Philadelphia Couples Photographer | Penn’s Landing | Sheila + Chris

Engagement

I got to be let in on one of the most romantic dates ever. Chris contacted me a few weeks ago and wanted me to get some candids of Himself and his girlfriend, Sheila, going on a date as a complete surprise to her. Chris’ idea was ice skating and I loved it.

It was the morning of New Year’s Eve and I got to the River Rink at Penn’s Landing to scope out a great spot to be able to photograph them without being noticed. I sweet talked some of the people setting up fireworks to let me slip into their area for a better view.

I had been texting with Chris to get an idea for what they were wearing so that I could spot them coming. I saw them and Sheila was looking absolutely jubilant the entire time. She was practically skipping across the parking lot on the way to the rink.

I had been assured ahead of time that they were “mushy” and didn’t mind a little PDA. Score!

Chris revealed what was going on and we spent some time on that chilly morning getting some closer pictures of the two of them along the water.

What a great time. It was so much fun being a photo ninja and capturing completely personal moments of these two. Chris, thanks so much for including me in your plan. Sheila, you’ve got a great one!

Ashley + Kevin: a Not Engagement Session all over Philadelphia
Some go the traditional route of engagement then engagement session then wedding... No one ever said that was the way you had to do it! You might remember Ashley from a modeling shoot earlier this summer. She came back for more but brought her main squeeze, Kevin with her for some not-yet-engaged engagement pictures. She and Kevin are moving to Atlanta and they wanted to be able to bring a little Philly with them to their new home. I adore this couple. They are so much fun. Ashley is beautiful and so relaxed in front of the camera and Kevin is simply awesome with a quick wit and a great smile. We had a fantastic extended "engagement"/co ...

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | West Fairmount Park | Meredith + Dwayne
It’s true: Meredith and Dwayne met at a bar 3 years ago. Before you get any ideas, Meredith was there for a fundraising event (I have no excuses for Dwayne – he was there for a bachelor party). Dwayne got her number and used it (twice) to set up a date at Chris’ Jazz Café in Philly – a really great little venue downtown. Thus began a relationship that brings us to this upcoming weekend when Meredith and Dwayne tie the knot.First we had to get in some engagement pictures. It was chilly but we made it work at the desolate West Fairmont Park by the Horticulture Center.I’m so impressed by their relationship. She works 60 hours a week as a pr ...

Philadelphia Proposal Photographer | Old City | Ashley + John
It was Ashley and John’s first time in Philadelphia.  They have a history of going to baseball games in different stadiums so they had picked a Phillies game for John’s birthday trip. John and I had been planning this for some time.  We had changed the date a bit when other events came up on Ashley’s calendar and we wanted to avoid suspicion. The temperatures were around 100 that day but Ashley and John arrived at Race Street Pier as expected.  He and I had gotten into the details of the surprise proposal.  I had drawn a heart at the spot where I wanted him to stop so that the blue Ben Franklin Bridge would be behind them. It ...
