Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | 30th Street Station | Jenny + Casey
Engagement
You are just going to flip over these pictures from Jenny and Casey’s engagement session at 30th Street Station the other week. The lighting was incredible, they were absolutely adorable and affectionate, and we got ourselves into some great situations. This session was fantastic because it really shows how the location can tie into a couple’s past and make pictures that are that much more special.
For a little bit of background, Jenny and Casey met… out… somewhere in Boston. He was hitting on her while she was with some co-workers and Jenny, being the firecracker that she is, made him work for her attention by grilling him on what he did and how he gave back to his community. He apparently answered correctly because he got a “yes” this past winter when he popped the question on a trip to South Africa. Jenny had been in the Peace Corps and Casey was originally going to wait until the leg of the trip that had them in Mozambique, the place that holds her heart. Weather made them change their plans around and a sunset on a South African beach doesn’t sound too shabby to me!
We met at Philadelphia’s gorgeous 30th Street Station for the engagement session. Due to work and living in different places, it was the perfect location. According to Jenny, “During our dating, we have spent a lot of time traveling to see each other – happy hellos and mournful goodbyes.”
I just love the platform there.
Haven’t I told you how dangerous engagement sessions can be? We were taking pictures when a police officer approached us and sternly let us know that this couple looked entirely too in love and having too much fun and promptly handcuffed them! It was hilarious!
They made a quick change and we walked across the street to get some images of the two of them in running clothes. She’s been a runner for a while and Casey picked it up with her. A route starting near the train station and winding along the Schuylkill was familiar to them. Casey has supported Jenny in her running and even ran the last few miles of the Philadelphia marathon with her.
Check out this gorgeous ring! Jenny didn’t want a traditional diamond ring so Casey came up with this antique and custom beauty.
Jen and Casey, thanks so much for sharing with me. I can’t wait for the wedding – it’s right around the corner!
Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.
