Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Old City + Broad Street | Vanessa + Jeff

Engagement

I’m 95% sure Vanessa is an international spy.  Trying to coordinate schedules to talk and meet up was difficult when she was jetsetting all over the place “selling juice.”  I’ll go along with the story.  Whatever.

She, Jeff, Scout, and I got together for their extended engagement session around Washington Square, Old City, and Broad Street.  Scout is an adorable and highly active 6 year old German Shorthair Pointer that came with Vanessa.  She is convinced Scout loves Jeff more though.

As the story goes, the two (Vanessa and Jeff) met at a training class in Chicago and formed an instant friendship over craft beer, pizza, their dedication to their careers and snarky remarks. Afterwards, Jeff went back to Austin, TX and Vanessa returned to Bentonville, AR but they kept in touch.

Six months later Jeff had an opportunity to move to Philadelphia. It was only a few months later when Vanessa was offered an opportunity of her own. Upon moving to Philadelphia they gravitated to each other like any two small town Arkansans in the big city would.  This was her first time living out of Arkansas and she truly feels like it’s “their city.”

When they’re not disrupting global relations, they carve out time for Razorbacks football and Jeff fosters his green thumb, cooking with the veggies and herbs from their garden.

I can’t even tell you how excited I was for Vanessa’s outfit change into an amazing tulle skirt, plaid shirt, and pearls.

I will see them next year for their wedding at the fantastic Morris House Hotel.  I can only assume that their fabulous fashion sense is a sign of great things to come!

And was packaged to stone ’cause you put it down right,

I don’t wanna see nothing if I ain’t seeing you,

The session started at Race Street Pier for a marvelously blue sky day! After a few rounds of giggling, the team made its way to Elfreth's Alley. I swear, shots along Broad Street with City Hall in the background just never get old! Just you wait to see more of these two in just a few months for their wedding at the newly revamped Glen Foerd Mansion! "Think of love as a state of grace, not the means to an ...

Princeton, NJ Engagement Photographer | Casey + Eric
It’s the age old love story. She was a nurse; he was a resident. She had her eyes on him and asked if he wanted to go out one night. They went to Triumph Brewery in Princeton, down the street from the hospital, and conversation was so easy. The date that night and all of them since them have been so good that they’ll be celebrating their wedding next month at Knowlton Mansion in Philadelphia. These two have a thing for cooking that made me want to invite myself over to their place for dinner. Casey apparently makes a pretty mean mac and cheese and can rock some pancakes. Eric’s got the omelets. They made a rack of lamb for Valentine’s D ...

Philadelphia Proposal Photographer | Old City | Ashley + John
It was Ashley and John’s first time in Philadelphia.  They have a history of going to baseball games in different stadiums so they had picked a Phillies game for John’s birthday trip. John and I had been planning this for some time.  We had changed the date a bit when other events came up on Ashley’s calendar and we wanted to avoid suspicion. The temperatures were around 100 that day but Ashley and John arrived at Race Street Pier as expected.  He and I had gotten into the details of the surprise proposal.  I had drawn a heart at the spot where I wanted him to stop so that the blue Ben Franklin Bridge would be behind them. It ...
