Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Old City | Kate + Dakota

Engagement

I’m guessing Dakota won’t appreciate this but… Kate and Dakota’s cuteness is out of control!  They are so flipping adorable together.  I was warned that Dakota isn’t great in front of the camera but I think Kate was just trying to keep my expectations super low so that they could blow them out of the water.  Total naturals, these two!

The two dated in eighth grade and he broke her heart (he wanted to hang out with his guys instead of having a girlfriend).

This is a woman who knows what she wants.  Kate continued to pursue him in high school.  She hung around with him and his friends until he asked her out again.  Their first date was out fishing where she caught about twenty fish and he brought in a measly one.

Their wedding is coming up at her family’s estate so we got things together for an engagement session around Old City so I could finally put faces to names.

The two are totally laid back.  Dakota says that this is maybe the second or third time he’s ever seen her in heels.

Dakota and Kate spend as much time in nature as possible.  They go out jet skiing, boating, and hiking when they have free time.

Dakota’s free time is often spent on any number of his vehicles – 2 motorcycles and 5 cars, one that he fixed up with his grandfather that later won Best in Show.

They also have a crazy 4 year old Pit mix who has a bad habit of taking out any creatures that dares set foot on the property but is super lovable with human visitors.

Dakota proposed to Kate at the top of a mountain hike in Tennessee with a beautiful diamond engagement ring.

I have a really good feeling that this wedding is going to be a blast.  I can’t wait!

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Rittenhouse Square | Abby + Eli
Rittenhouse Square is classic Philly and I have been there many, many times for engagement sessions because it’s so iconic. Abby and Eli picked the area because it’s theirs. They live here and know the streets, houses, dogs, and shops. These are my favorite kinds of engagement sessions because I don’t just get to see two people in love, I get to see them in their place. We wandered around and hit up some of their favorite local spots. Goji, a happily prancing 1.5 year old shiba ino/jindo mix, escorted us.Just look at this face! Ahhhh! And bow tie! These two are really amazing together. They met at her roommate’s birthday party. She was ...

Engagement Session Photography at Valley Forge National Park: Lindsay + Jordan
So you know that great couple who were high school sweethearts, incredibly friendly, loving, and attractive? The kind that have it so together that they couldn’t even make a WB teen sitcom about them? Yeah, that’s Lindsay and Jordan. They’ve been together 7-8 years (it’s debatable) and have seen each other through long distances and ups and downs. Earlier this year she had a ring waiting for her at the end of a scavenger hunt all around town. Love it!They’re now in Austin, Texas, planning a fall wedding at Tyler Arboretum from afar. I was able to grab them for a few hours on a trip out here. We had a spectacular engagement session at V ...

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Rittenhouse Square | Anne + David
I literally met Anne and David 2 days before their wedding for their engagement session. They live in New York but chose Philly because it was where they first met. Dave’s parents were also married in Philly almost 40 years ago. It was great to be able to spend that time with them before the wedding day. I learned that they met while at Jefferson Hospital by having lots of mutual friends. There’s a debate over the actual first date but they’ve been together about 3 years, adventuring all over the world. Dave proposed to Anne at the summit of a mountain in Japan after a 10 mile hike and they have an adorable puppy named Jake.We got toget ...
