Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Old City | Sarah + Ryan

Engagement

These two beautiful people graced me for an evening of tromping all overt Old City the other day.  They’re new in town, having moved from Florida in May.

Ryan’s only request was water so we met at Race Street Pier to begin the pictures.  They were naturals from the first second.

The two met at a country bar in Orlando two years ago.  Ryan walked in looking preppy as can be with rolled red pants, a linen shirt, and boat shoes.  Sarah just had to send a picture of this guy to her friends via Snapchat.  He caught her doing it and the rest is history!

They were at DisneyWorld in January.  He managed a romantic private nighttime boatride and explained it as a perk from a family member who worked there.  Once the fireworks started going off, he popped the question.

She always knew that she wanted to get married at Disney so they’ll be tying the knot there next spring.

For now, they’re living the life in a new home near Allentown with their two pooches while Ryan commutes to Manhattan for work.

Thank you both so much for wandering around this fair city and looking so amazing in the process (hellooooooo, Louboutins!).

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Morris Arboretum | Amy + Zach
Amy and Zach approached me to do their engagement session a little bit unconventionally.  They wanted to be in their wedding clothes and do it at their wedding venue.  This way they could spend more time enjoying their wedding on the day of.  Pretty genius if you ask me. And so it was that Amy’s hair, makeup, and bouquet trials were all done on the same day a month before the wedding on a beautiful day at Morris Arboretum. Amy and Zach met 4 years ago online.  Clearly these two are already smart individuals.  Their first date was to a place serving pop tarts and burgers because, as Amy puts it, she has the palette of a toddler. ...

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Old City + Fairmount | Anna + Andrew
I would write a full blog post about this couple if I knew Anna weren’t on the edge of her seat and probably overloading her internet at work by refreshing the browser on Lindsay Docherty Photography. If I had more time you’d learn things about Anna and Andrew like how they met in high school (my alma mater, Lower Merion). You’d learn that they were friends for years before they were both single and she invited him to a formal at her college and he drove 6 hours in a blizzard to be there for her.But there’s just no time for that. Here are some pictures from their amaaaaaazing extended engagement session that started at Elfreth’s Alley in Old ...

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Chestnut Hill | Stephanie + Nick
Stephanie and Nick’s courtship has been less than traditional. The meeting, first kiss, etc. The second time they went out, he picked on her like a schoolboy (boys only do that to girls they really like, by the way). The day he proposed, Nick picked a fight with Stephanie to throw her off – it was later that evening when they were in the car outside of a restaurant where they were to be greeted by friends that he popped the question. She was so blindsided that she was speechless (she obviously said yes). Time from proposal to wedding is 5 months and yes, it can be done. They’ll be getting married at the gorgeous Glen Foerd Mansion this ...
