It was the perfect evening to spend around Society Hill, Erika and Chip’s old stomping grounds from when they first met. If you’re an early morning news watcher (CBS3), you’ll certainly recognize the beautiful and spunky Erika von Tiehl. I spent time with her and her dapper beau, Chip, as we wandered took advantage of some great light, happy places, and loving laughter.
We started our fun at Headhouse Square before checking out Twisted Tail, one of their favorite bars. The affection between the two was palpable. On their second date, Chip made Erika dinner at his place. He prepared the steak and she made apple pie. He moved the coffee table aside after dinner so they could dance together.
It was on their first date at Rittenhouse’s Parc that he knew he would marry her. He grins as he says the words.
They have crazy schedules since she’s out of the house by 2:30am for the show and he works normal human hours. They have found a way to make it work, even if it means naps or early nights for Erika. They have Sophie, a Cavalier spaniel, to keep them company in the off hours.
He is from Charlotte, NC (and a Wolfpack fan!) and she is a California girl. They travel a lot; St. Johns is their favorite locale. It was on a trip last month to Charleston, SC that Chip popped the question.
The two are so obviously happy together. There is such easy warmth and kindness between them.
There is no date or location set for the wedding yet but I can’t wait to hear what else is in store for these two. It was so wonderful being around them!
