Becky and Josh’s newborn session was held on a rainy day in their Fishtown home. The baby was less than two weeks old. When I arrived, Becky bounded down the stairs to greet me. I thought I must have been in the wrong house. She moved around with complete ease. (A total jerk, I know!)
The windowlight was perfection that day. Soft light fell on this brand new family and I could not get enough!
Josh and Becky thought they were having a boy for sure. Everyone thought so. The way she carried the baby, that she didn’t lose any of her good looks, cravings, etc. All signs pointed to boy.
And then she arrived. Harper Vale. A beautiful, perfect little girl.
The H in Harper came from Heather, Josh’s sister who passed away before he was born. The V came from Becky’s great grandmother.
Becky misses running the most though I’m sure she’ll get back to it soon enough. She ran the Broad Street Run at 19 weeks pregnant. Josh just finished the New York City marathon. This kid has some swift little genes!
As with all newborn sessions, there were plenty of breaks and a few demands. I know that one does not question the model’s orders.
The pink crocheted blanket is a family heirloom. Little Harper was the perfect fit for it.
Congratulations, Josh and Becky, on your adorable new sugarplum!
