Philadelphia Proposal Photographer | Morris Arboretum | Keith + Abbie

Engagement

It was really chilly and almost any wonder Keith was able to convince Abbie to show up at Morris Arboretum one afternoon while they both had colds. But he got her over there after a morning with massages and it (mostly) everything went according to plan.

I had been talking with Keith for a few weeks prior to the proposal day session. We had discussed the perfect time of day, the perfect location, angles, schedules, etc. Morris Arboretum is a gorgeous location in Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia. They would be coming in from New York so he wasn’t able to scope out the space beforehand. Thankfully, I’ve been to Morris several times and absolutely love it there. We worked on a spot that would be secluded but would have a place for me to get into position to see them both as he got down on one knee to pop the question.

I was armed and ready as they appeared (and then disappeared and then reappeared). This is what we planned out…

And the answer…

I was called over to them and we wandered around the park for a little bit just indulging in what just happened and all of the questions Abbie had for Keith about what was planned, who knew, how it all went down….

I learned that they both grew up in the Philly burbs but met at work and started dating about 2.5 years ago. There’s a discrepancy over who initiated the email flirtations but the result is clear. They live in New York now and are looking forward to starting a new chapter together.

Main Line Engagement Photographer | Bryn Mawr, PA | Colleen + Karl
I really don’t think I could have asked for a better day/place/couple for an engagement session. I met Colleen and Karl on one of the most beautiful days of the year when the autumn colors were just screaming off of the trees and the temperature was ideal. On top of that, Colleen and Karl were perfectly playful, loving, and photogenic. We shot at and near their beautiful house in Bryn Mawr on the Main Line. The icing on the cake was their 6 month old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Samson. We played at the house for a while with Samson. We took a tiny break to change clothes so that we could wander around the gorgeous neighborhood. I loved t ...

Kelly Anne + Dave: Proposal in Fairmount Park
She didn’t even see it coming. Dave had convinced Kelly Anne a proposal was about a year away so she didn’t think much of it when they went into the city last week for lunch and then drove around parts of Philly for her to take pictures.Kelly Anne is a burgeoning photographer; pictures are important to her. She’s the beautiful snow bunny I photographed last winter. Dave came to me knowing three things:1) he wanted to propose2) he wanted fabulous pictures of it3) he wanted it to be in a beautiful place so the pictures would be that much betterWe brainstormed and scouted and came up with this hidden gem of a park on Kelly Drive. This piece ...
