Wedding
Lauren and Sam’s wedding has been a long time coming. It’s been about 8 years or so now. I shot their engagement session around Old City last winter and have been on the edge of my seat for their gorgeous wedding this summer.
There was this classy broad who got married last year in England. Her name was Kate something and she was Lauren’s wedding inspiration. I’d say Lauren pulled it off beautifully. She was beyond stunning. I was with the ladies at Lauren’s mother’s house in Wynnewood before the ceremony while everyone was getting ready.
Check out their high school prom picture!
Lauren’s Priscilla of Boston wedding gown fit her like a glove. I loooved the lace shoulder addition she had for the ceremony and her something blue – her new initials sewn into the back of the dress.
She wore her grandmother’s strand of pearls around her wrist.
Meanwhile, the guys were getting decked out in their bowties and suspenders at Sam’s family’s house.
The ceremony was held at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, where Lauren and Sam first met for confirmation class so many years ago.
I will be amazing if socks ever make this much of a statement at a wedding again. These socks were something pretty special.
It was at the end of the ceremony when Sam unveiled the socks to a very surprised Lauren. She had wanted them but he had pushed back on the idea for months. In the end, he donned the hot pink socks. What a man!
We headed into the city as the rain started to fall. Not to be deterred, we still took some fantastic pictures of the bridal party and the happy newlyweds around Old City. We even got a cameo appearance!
The reception was held at Cescaphe’s incredible Atrium at the Curtis Center. This venue is stunning and I’m always so psyched to photograph at a Cescaphe location. The food is out of this world and the surroundings are top notch. The Atrium is no exception. Words can’t even describe it!
After some rousing bridal party introductions, Lauren and Sam shared their first dance to Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are the Best Thing”.
Then the party began – excellent toasts, bumping music, and plenty of dancing!
And a brief interlude to go outside for some celebratory cigars.
What a truly extraordinary day. Lauren and Sam, I’d say the royal wedding had nothing on yours! Congratulations!
Baby,
We’ve come a long way, baby.
You know, I hope and I pray that you believe me
