Wedding

Lauren and Sam’s wedding has been a long time coming. It’s been about 8 years or so now. I shot their engagement session around Old City last winter and have been on the edge of my seat for their gorgeous wedding this summer.

There was this classy broad who got married last year in England. Her name was Kate something and she was Lauren’s wedding inspiration. I’d say Lauren pulled it off beautifully. She was beyond stunning. I was with the ladies at Lauren’s mother’s house in Wynnewood before the ceremony while everyone was getting ready.

Lauren’s Priscilla of Boston wedding gown fit her like a glove. I loooved the lace shoulder addition she had for the ceremony and her something blue – her new initials sewn into the back of the dress.

She wore her grandmother’s strand of pearls around her wrist.

Meanwhile, the guys were getting decked out in their bowties and suspenders at Sam’s family’s house.

The ceremony was held at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, where Lauren and Sam first met for confirmation class so many years ago.

I will be amazing if socks ever make this much of a statement at a wedding again. These socks were something pretty special.

It was at the end of the ceremony when Sam unveiled the socks to a very surprised Lauren. She had wanted them but he had pushed back on the idea for months. In the end, he donned the hot pink socks. What a man!

We headed into the city as the rain started to fall. Not to be deterred, we still took some fantastic pictures of the bridal party and the happy newlyweds around Old City. We even got a cameo appearance!

The reception was held at Cescaphe’s incredible Atrium at the Curtis Center. This venue is stunning and I’m always so psyched to photograph at a Cescaphe location. The food is out of this world and the surroundings are top notch. The Atrium is no exception. Words can’t even describe it!

After some rousing bridal party introductions, Lauren and Sam shared their first dance to Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are the Best Thing”.

Then the party began – excellent toasts, bumping music, and plenty of dancing!

And a brief interlude to go outside for some celebratory cigars.

What a truly extraordinary day. Lauren and Sam, I’d say the royal wedding had nothing on yours! Congratulations!

We’ve come a long way, baby.

Wedding Flowers with Gillian Marie Events
One of the greatest things about being in the wedding industry is seeing all of the beautiful, special pieces people put into their big day. Each wedding is different and each has its own pretty parts and pieces that make it just perfect for the couple. The wedding day flowers are some of the most spectacular aspects of the wedding day. So many different colors, textures, designs, scents, feels, etc. They cover almost every sense (hey, did you know pansies were edible?). The choice of flowers can change the feel of an entire room, the feel of an entire wedding even! And there are so many considerations too… What does the dress look like? ...

Melissa + Phil: Intimate Outdoor Wedding
Last month I had the absolute pleasure and honor of photographing Melissa & Phil's intimate wedding held at a friend's house near Doylestown, PA. I was one of only 11 guests there to witness their union.Melissa was a joy from day one. She is cheerful and spunky and we realized we had a commonality – cheese and Narberth. We both love cheese and she actually worked at the cute little cheese shop in downtown Narberth, just a few blocks away from where I live. She was all smiles and looked glorious on her wedding day.Melissa and Phil opted to see each other and spend time with their guests before the ceremony. This couple wasn't going fo ...

wedding bride and groom after first look at Aldie Mansion
Bucks County Wedding Photographer | Aldie Mansion | Kat + Dan
Kat and Dan married on a crisp, sunny day in December at one of my favorite venues in the area, Aldie Mansion.  The space was perfect for Kat who looked like she stepped out of a glamorous 1920s novel.  Her soft blonde hair fell along her face with an antique hair clasp.  Her gown (the 49th one she tried on!) was an incredible lace and beaded number that had been discontinued but she sourced and brought in.  The fluttering sleeves and delicate lace along the bottom were additions and I can’t imagine the dress without them. Leave it to Kat to accessorize with deep red, velvet pumps. She ...
