Vanessa and Jeff’s wedding day at the Morris House Hotel in Philadelphia was hot but stylishly beautiful. I knew from the hotness of their Old City engagement session that this wedding would have pizazz!
As always, the Morris House Hotel was delightful, it’s antique flag flying in the breeze.
The ladies gathered with Vanessa in the bridal suite for hair and makeup and to keep cool. Vanessa had seen a designer online that she simply had to see in person. A trip to DC led her to several samples of Julie Vino. She was looking for something with sleeves and fell for the one that she had originally pinned. It was a fabulous silk chiffon number with a lace bodice and illusion neckline. The sleeves were soft and billowy with sweet buttons at the wrists.
Yes, those green eyes are real and not Photoshop magic!
The bride and groom welled up during the first look but we scooted over to Washington Square Park for pictures before the ceremony. Though standing in the sun was brutal for the ladies in long dresses and gents in full suits, they were a good crowd about the whole thing.
Special ring bearer guest, Scout, a German Shorthair Pointer dog, reminded us all to just smile about the day.
Their nondenominational ceremony was led by their friend, Megan.
Cocktail hour on the front patio looked like something out of a Gatsybian movie. Servers passed a lemonade cocktail that was made with basil that Jeff grew himself.
The tent was flipped for the rehearsal. Despite how wonderful everything looked, Vanessa was particularly excited about the tables. The gold silverware, gold chevron napkins, and gold rimmed plates atop navy and magenta linens were perfection!
An entrance into a sassy and dramatic first dance to “Ho Hey” led off the night.
From there, we indulged in a reception with a focus on fun and less on formalities.
A cupcake tower with flavors like mint chocolate chip had guests lining up out the door for a taste.
The fete even brought in a wedding crasher towards the end of the evening!
The newlyweds sauntered out the front door (twice) to sparklers from their guests before continuing the party.
It was a great day and you two (and Scout) looked dazzling!
I belong with you, you belong with me, you’re my sweetheart
I belong with you, you belong with me, you’re my sweet
