Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Philadelphia City Hall | Erin + Mike

Wedding

Erin and Mike are all about making social media work for them. It was through Twitter that she arranged for Mayor Michael Nutter to officiate her wedding ceremony. It’s amazing what can be done through 140 characters. She and I have been emailing back and forth for over a year and a half about her wedding at Philadelphia City Hall. I had been on the edge of my seat to meet her and her groom and this wedding did not disappoint.

Their ceremony was held in the Mayor’s Reception room – an incredible space with carved mahogany, fine curtains and draperies, a gold and ivory ceiling, an enormous gold plated chandelier, an exquisite fireplace, and paintings of former mayors on all walls.

And then we went back inside City Hall to take advantage of some of my favorite light in the city.

Erin and Mike met several years ago at a party when she was in town visiting a friend. She had actually picked him out from a YouTube video beforehand but this is all a story for another day. What matters is that he asked her to marry him (a day early actually) and she said yes. They had come back from dinner and it just felt right.

We went to some classic spots for Broad Street and LOVE Park shots.

It was such a fantastic day and Erin and Mike were every bit and incredible as I had hoped. Congratulations, you two. See you around the internets.

Cape May Wedding Photographer | Cold Spring Village | Madeleine + Josh
Maddie was jubilant as she got ready for her wedding on New Year’s eve in Cape May.  She was one of the most stress-free brides I have ever seen.  And she had all the reasons to be that way.  It was a sunny, brisk day, any decisions that could be made were already made, and she was marrying the guy from Australia who had clicked with her immediately when they met years earlier in Nashville. Josh was sure she would either be in a dramatic, over the top gown or a super simple one.  She had tried on 5 dresses before landing on the one.  Though I was pulling for something crazy, Maddie wowed in a sleek sati ...

Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | DoubleTree Hotel | Becca + Nick
If Snow White were real, I’m fairly certain she would look like Becca. Becca was absolutely gorgeous and her wedding to Nick was filled with personal touches, unseasonably warm weather (a few days before Frankenstorm, no less), and a group that knew how to rock it out like it was their job.I arrived at the Philadelphia DoubleTree Hotel to spend time with Becca and the ladies before the ceremony.Dreamy, fluffy, bowed Badgley Mischkas? Yes, please!Nick wrote a note for Becca to read before the ceremony. It included his famous doodles of them. Completely adorable! Please note Becca’s “something blue” toenails and pearls borrowed from her new ...

Carolyn + Jeremy: Philadelphia Wedding at St. Thomas of Villanova and the Down Town Club
“Rain” doesn’t even begin to describe the weather on Carolyn and Jeremy’s wedding day. We’re talking torrential downpour, gale force winds, sheets of water and fierce gusts. A downright tempest.Regardless, Carolyn and Jeremy took it in stride and the day was an absolute blast. If they were phased at all, they didn’t show it. This is the same couple from the engagement session around the Penn campus a few months ago. The day was beautiful, fun, quirky, and hilarious. You’ll see…I started at Carolyn’s parents’ house in Villanova where the ladies were getting ready. Jeremy and the guys were at the Omni Hotel in the city. Carolyn had some ...
