Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Philadelphia City Hall | Erin + Mike

Wedding

Erin and Mike are all about making social media work for them. It was through Twitter that she arranged for Mayor Michael Nutter to officiate her wedding ceremony. It’s amazing what can be done through 140 characters. She and I have been emailing back and forth for over a year and a half about her wedding at Philadelphia City Hall. I had been on the edge of my seat to meet her and her groom and this wedding did not disappoint.

Their ceremony was held in the Mayor’s Reception room – an incredible space with carved mahogany, fine curtains and draperies, a gold and ivory ceiling, an enormous gold plated chandelier, an exquisite fireplace, and paintings of former mayors on all walls.

And then we went back inside City Hall to take advantage of some of my favorite light in the city.

Erin and Mike met several years ago at a party when she was in town visiting a friend. She had actually picked him out from a YouTube video beforehand but this is all a story for another day. What matters is that he asked her to marry him (a day early actually) and she said yes. They had come back from dinner and it just felt right.

We went to some classic spots for Broad Street and LOVE Park shots.

It was such a fantastic day and Erin and Mike were every bit and incredible as I had hoped. Congratulations, you two. See you around the internets.

Pacific Weddings Magazine recently ran a contest to see which image they would print on the back page of their 10 year anniversary Winter/Spring 2009 issue. They were looking for an image with a NOSTALGIC feel (note: not necessarily an old photo, but one that has a nostalgic sensibility). The photo was to capture a magical, emotional moment in a wedding celebration. It can be any extraordinary shot that instantly conveys emotion. This full page picture will appear on the Last Word page facing the back cover of the magazine. I entered a shot from Amanda and Justin's wedding from this summer that I second shot with FC Wong. It's a very simple vo ...

Wilmington Wedding Photographer | Rockwood Park | Clare + Brian
Clare and Brian had one of my favorite engagement sessions of the year. To say that I was excited about their wedding would be an understatement. These two are just fun. Clare laughs so easily around Brian, which is pretty convenient for him since he managed to break his foot two days before the wedding and spent the night before the wedding in the ER. He had a cane with him on the wedding day. They took it in stride (no pun intended!).The ceremony and reception was held at the Carriage House at Rockwood Park in Wilmington, Delaware. The place is gorgeous with its stone walls, exposed beams, and beautiful gardens. Quite the hidden gem! ...
