Philadelphia Wedding Spotlight | Lovely Bride

Wedding

Walk inside of the doors of this Old City gem and you’ll have your eyes full of some of the most beautiful frocks this side of the catwalk. This new bridal boutique is absolutely hopping after opening its doors in 2013 with the charismatic and stylish Ivy Kaplin at the helm.  Lovely couldn’t be a more fitting name.

I stopped by the shop to indulge in the soft frillies – lace, tulle, illusion backs, non-whites, short, feathered, beaded, organza, silk… I could go on and on but that’s not my job. It’s Ivy’s.

I asked Ivy if she still gets excited about the dresses and tries them on when the shop is closed. I know I absolutely would. She confessed that she does and that she has nicknames for a good few of the dresses. That’s my kinda girl!

Make an appointment at Lovely Bride and take advantage of the biggest dressing rooms I’ve ever seen at a wedding dress shop (and I went to 6 of them myself).

Then indulge in the luxe gowns yourself. Oh, and check out the selection of veils, belts, jewelry, and other accessories. There was this ridiculously gorgeous delicate garter that was to die for!

Give Ivy a hello from me and be sure to tell me which one you pick!

This is the same couple that wasn’t looking for love that I was telling you about a few months ago from their engagement session around Chestnut Hill.I met with Stephanie at the Sheraton not far from the wedding venue. She was there with her mother and sister watching the flakes through the window. She changed into her gorgeous Vera Wan ...

Jenn + Matt: a Catholic Wedding in New Jersey
Last month I photographed a truly beautiful wedding. The couple was the stunning Jenn and dapper Matt. They had a lovely ceremony at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Merchantville, NJ. I loved that they had a bagpiper! After some serious getting lost looking for a park, we scrapped the idea and headed towards the aquarium for some fantastic shots of the couple with the Ben Franklin Bridge in the background. I let the pictures speak for themselves…I just adore that long cathedral veil. It may be a pain, but it makes the most beautiful pictures! Jenn was absolutely adorable. She was all smiles and loved being a model for us. Her laughter w ...
