Photography Convention in San Antonio, Texas

Uncategorized

The other week I ventured into Texas, no small undertaking, I assure you. I went to learn, become inspired, participate in shootouts, and meet new photographer friends. I am happy to report that I accomplished all of my goals and then some!

They were a fabulous few days surrounded by some of the best photographers in the world. I attended the intimate DWF Convention, a convention that piggy backs on the more massive Imaging USA every January. I checked out the enormous expo and picked up just a few goodies.

Here are just a few images from my time there…

It was pretty incredible to watch Jerry Ghionis do his thing.

Being the bonehead that I am, I didn’t bring nearly enough business cards so I had to make my own:

We had some photographer shootouts which were just a blast. The San Antonio Riverwalk has some fantastic locations for shooting and we certainly made the most of it.

Sometimes the hunters become the hunted…

It was just awesome. Thank you to DWF for putting on such a great event, for the speakers for imparting such wisdom, to the models for their grace and style. And, of course, a huge thank you to my fellow photographers for sharing knowledge and experiences, having impromptu photo sessions and late night heart to hearts, and knowing how to have a good time.

Can’t wait for next year’s convention in New Orleans!

Always walk through life as if you have something new to learn and you will.

Woohoo! Lindsay Docherty Photography has been featured on one of the hottest new websites for seniors, Let's get Trashed ! No no, this isn't about parties while the parents are away. What started with adventurous and fun brides getting down and dirty in their dresses at TrashtheDress.com , has now become a senior sensation with high school senior men and women going out and having fun in their prom formalwear and letting lucky photographers (like me) come along for the ride. It can mean totally trashing it – like cutting it up, rolling around in mud, and splashing in the ocean or just taking it somewhere unexpected and not-so-clean lik ...
