The other week I ventured into Texas, no small undertaking, I assure you. I went to learn, become inspired, participate in shootouts, and meet new photographer friends. I am happy to report that I accomplished all of my goals and then some!
They were a fabulous few days surrounded by some of the best photographers in the world. I attended the intimate DWF Convention, a convention that piggy backs on the more massive Imaging USA every January. I checked out the enormous expo and picked up just a few goodies.
Here are just a few images from my time there…
It was pretty incredible to watch Jerry Ghionis do his thing.
Being the bonehead that I am, I didn’t bring nearly enough business cards so I had to make my own:
We had some photographer shootouts which were just a blast. The San Antonio Riverwalk has some fantastic locations for shooting and we certainly made the most of it.
Sometimes the hunters become the hunted…
It was just awesome. Thank you to DWF for putting on such a great event, for the speakers for imparting such wisdom, to the models for their grace and style. And, of course, a huge thank you to my fellow photographers for sharing knowledge and experiences, having impromptu photo sessions and late night heart to hearts, and knowing how to have a good time.
Can’t wait for next year’s convention in New Orleans!
Always walk through life as if you have something new to learn and you will.
