the Marshalls: a Family session at Haverford College

Family

Two Sundays ago I met up with the Marshall family at Haverford College for a photoshoot. We had Sarah and Brad and their three children: Caitlin (14), Adam (4), and Amelia (2.5). They had won the session at an auction in February at the Gladwyne Montessori School, where Adam is a student. Amelia’s sweet little springtime outfit was handmade by one of Brad’s realtives (I think it was his mother…).

We missed out on the sunny weather that we saw a few days prior but the overcast skies made for perfect soft lighting at the gorgeous school grounds.

We started out around the pond and the old weathered shack right there.

I love Adam’s expression and pose in the picture of all three.

We then wandered over to a little spot with daffodils and little yellow flowers. We got some of just the girls.

And just the guys.

Our last spot was on a little path on the far side of the pond. It was nice and secluded and just perfect for some relaxed family shots.

Once Amelia had had enough, Brad and Sarah took a second at the end for a few shots together.

And I had to include this one of Adam, who was full of smiles and energy the whole time!

What a beautiful family! Thanks again; I hope you had a great time!

Philadelphia Maternity Photographer | Sheila
While my job ranks waaay up there for best in the world, there might be one or two that beat it.  I can only imagine the magic that comes from being a midwife like Sheila.  The relationships made and the end result, a larger family, must be incredible to witness. I photographed Sheila and Sanjay’s engagement session and weddings (yes, plural) a few years back and I was overjoyed to hear that they were expecting a little “Shejay” this spring.  It was fabulous reconnecting with them and peppering her with questions about what it’s like to be on this side of the belly. We shot their maternity session at their home in Queen Village, ...

Philadelphia Family Photographer | 1 year | Jack
I have been lucky enough to follow this little man through the past year and it has been extraordinary.  Here is Jack at his newborn session: I visited him six months later and saw this: This time we had Mom and Dad around and we took in some morning rays at Spruce Street Harbor Park in Philadelphia for Jack's 1 year session.  The hammocks were a little unsettling. Jack’s eyes are just as blue and vibrant as ever and, looking back from the beginning, it is wild to see him grow up from a tiny little peanut to a little boy (with so many teeth!). As always, he was a delight.  Even through some colds and road trips, ...
