Destination Wedding Photographer | Connecticut: Candlelight Farms Inn | Stacy & Joe

Wedding

Stacy will be the first to admit that she is totally spoiled. And it’s kind of true. The terrible thing is that Stacy is one of the sweetest, kindest, most loving people I’ve ever met so she pretty much deserves it all. This includes two weddings for her and Joe! (Check out the pictures from their Philadelphia wedding here and their engagement session here.) Joe is a city boy from Philly but Stacy considers herself a country girl at heart. It was important to Stacy that she have a wedding that represented the Connecticut side of her life, where she grew up with her very tight family. She wanted something loose and casual but still beautiful. Something that encouraged cowboy boots, tractors, games, horses, dueling pianos, and fabulous vistas.

This second wedding was held in New Milford, Connecticut at the Candlelight Farms Inn. The day didn’t quite start to Stacy’s vision. When she asked for this wedding, she expected sun, not ominous rainclouds. The bridal party was glued to the windows waiting to see what would happen with the weather.

But the rain did stop for a while and we had glorious skies for Stacy and Joe’s first look and walking around the property for pictures of the two of them before the ceremony.

The large bridal party (10 bridesmaids, 13 groomsmen, 2 flower girls, 2 sign boys, and a ring bearer) was so much fun. The purple popped against the overcast sky and the cowboy boots were perfection!

I’m guessing someone somewhere got the note that Stacy is to be spoiled on her wedding day, the sun came out right before Stacy walked down the aisle and stayed out for the entire ceremony. I really couldn’t believe it.

Cocktail hour on the split level property included so many goodies for the guests: bocce ball, horseshoes, croquet, a photo wall, cheese displays, French fries, sno cones, beer in a canoe, a hay bale lounge, and two sisters in the bucket of a backhoe!

Stacy said that the twirling was one of her favorite parts about that Justin Alexander frock.

The reception for the 270 guests was held in a large tent with interior trees, dueling piano players, hula hoops, sparklers, sunglasses, and picnic benches for dinner tables. The rain started again just as guests were ushered under cover. Power went out for a few minutes during the toasts but this didn’t faze anyone one bit!

They shared their first dance to “Only You Can Love Me This Way” by Keith Urban.

The rest of the night was a blur of dancing, food, and laughter.

Simply beautiful. Stacy and Joe, I am beyond honored that you included me in your engagement session, Philly wedding, and Connecticut wedding. It was all such a joy!

New Jersey Wedding Photographer | Camp Ockanickon | Christina + Chris
Based on my extensive experience with Colameco weddings, I can give you this advice: bring your dancing shoes and tissues.  Lots and lots of tissues.  In fact, go to Costco and buy them in bulk because you and everyone else will be leaking everywhere.  You’re welcome. I had the pleasure of being the photographer for Christina and Chris’ wedding at Camp Ockanickon in Medford, NJ.  They wanted their wedding to involve BBQ and feel laid back so they found this place, traditionally a summer camp for kids, that had the perfect vibe for their affair. Of course the wedding party were staying at their respective boy’s and girl’s lodges. ...

Delaware County Wedding Photographer | Gables at Chadds Ford | Oz-inspired Styled Shoot
It’s not every day that I get to show up in a faraway land and just play with colors, textures, and some of the most amazing people in the wedding industry (actually, it happens more than is probably fair!).I was chatting with Sarah of Juniper & Dash late last year and came up with the idea for a beautiful styled wedding shoot inspired by Disney’s new Oz: the Great and Powerful. We led with an emerald green (oh yes, this was before Pantone came out with their color of the year) with accents of glistening gold and poppy red.We gathered a great and powerful team and created a magical shoot that sparkles with details and beauty. The talent ...

winter wedding day in Rittenhouse Square with snow
Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Ritz Carlton | Laurie + Andrew
Laurie and Andrew were married on one of those days that make you say, “go home, weather, you’re drunk!”  The previous day was a lovely 60 degrees.  People were wearing shorts.  Then the ice age hit and we were dealt school closings across the city, snow, and 20+ MPH winds.  It was cold and blustery but it was a story and they looked good.  Really good. Laurie had originally contacted me for their Philadelphia City Hall wedding.  As these things sometimes do, the wedding grew.  And grew.  And grew.  She got back to me to let me know that the plan had changed from a 5 minute ceremony at City Hall on a Thursday to a full ceremony at the ...
