April Facebook Cover Images

Personal

Good morning!!! (She writes at 12:31pm.)

Is it safe to come out? Now that it’s April, do we finally get to pack the scarves and gloves? Will I be able to reconnect with my beloved flip-flops soon?

The never-ending Winter and its accompanying entourage, Muck, Malaise, and Misery have made their exit and I feel like I can crawl out from under the covers again. The last few months have been beyond brutal for me. I am a warm-weather gal and I love me some Vitamin D. I know our spring will be cut tragically short but I intend to frolic and bask as much as possible. In my case, that probably just means re-starting my running regimen to get in shape for Broad Street et al.

So good morning, spring! I have missed you more than you can possibly know! Let’s just pretend that the last few months were a terrible dream, shall we?

With a stretch and a yawn, I give you this month’s Facebook cover images. Click to download these images and see them at their full size and resolution.

It ain’t as bad as you think. It will look better in the morning.

I'll just try to list the made-from-scratch dishes we had for seven people: brie/blue cheese and crackers, deviled eggs, spinach artichoke dip, turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, green beans with lemon vina ...

Happy [belated] Mother’s Day!
I didn’t post on Mother’s Day because I was in Scotland. Even better, I was in Scotland with my mom on Mother’s Day. The death of my uncle didn’t make the circumstances ideal, but I was glad to see her and some of the family. My family is a bit… quirky. I suppose when the family has 12 children (Scottish and Catholic, go figure) there is bound to be a degree of peculiarity. Some are on speaking terms, some aren't. There is giving and taking and laughter and frustration. It was so good to spend an evening together. Conversations ranged from the macabre to general catching up to scandalous but it felt quite us - no holds barred, no ...
