I have beautiful daffodils in my kitchen and living room right now so I know spring can’t be too far away, right? If the grocery store tells me daffodils and hyacinths are right around the corner, it must be true! (Then again, these are the same people putting out poinsettias the day after Halloween.)

For now we’ve got snow, icicles, slush, and a whole lot of potholes. But if you look closely you’ll see some really beautiful examples of the winter. The white snow makes a fantastic canvas for ice-covered berries and dried wildflowers. For those of you who love the cold, relish in this time of crispness and cable-knit sweaters. For the rest of us who can’t wait for the warm weather, don’t fret – Trader Joe’s tells me it’ll be here in no time!

Every month I feature new images for download for you to use as your desktop background. Click to download it and see it at its huge size and resolution.

*Please note these images are made available for personal use only.

I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape – the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show.

Imaging USA recap
I got back from beautiful and sunny 70 degree Tampa last week. I was glad to come back home after being away for three weeks though I have to admit that I wanted to get right back on that plane once I saw San Francisco and it's cold, rainy mess. As promised, I worked on my picture-a-day commitment while I was there.I roomed with Julie of Julie Cheshire Photography and made friends with another photographer, Jennifer Witz, who photographs portraits in the Bellevue, WA area. Being that the convention w ...
