Headshot session by the ballpark

Uncategorized

I had a great session with Grace the other day. She performs (acts and sings) in plays in her spare time (which isn’t much). She’s from England and has just a fabulous British accent. She’s also got these stunning clear blue eyes. Chek them out…
Grace has a very genuine smile that came out easily. Making a serious face was a task – when asked how to do it her friend told her to “think of something serious, like dog poo.” Serious indeed.Again, I’ve been lucky to get someone totally laid back.
This is the one that she ultimately chose for her headshot in an upcoming production program.
Keep an eye open for Grace coming to a city near you!

Good luck, Grace!

Photography Convention in San Antonio, Texas
The other week I ventured into Texas, no small undertaking, I assure you. I went to learn, become inspired, participate in shootouts, and meet new photographer friends. I am happy to report that I accomplished all of my goals and then some! They were a fabulous few days surrounded by some of the best photographers in the world. I attended the intimate DWF Convention, a convention that piggy backs on the more massive Imaging USA every January. I checked out the enormous expo and picked up just a few goodies. Here are just a few images from my time there…It was pretty incredible to watch Jerry Ghionis do his thing.Being the bonehead that I am ...

Imaging USA recap
I got back from beautiful and sunny 70 degree Tampa last week. I was glad to come back home after being away for three weeks though I have to admit that I wanted to get right back on that plane once I saw San Francisco and it's cold, rainy mess. I was in Florida for Imaging USA, one of the industry's biggest conventions. It was an absolute blast (except for the 7am seminars! Bleh!). As promised, I worked on my picture-a-day commitment while I was there.I roomed with Julie of Julie Cheshire Photography and made friends with another photographer, Jennifer Witz, who photographs portraits in the Bellevue, WA area. Being that the convention w ...

Please tell me I'm not the only one who would get absolutely psyched to pick out new school supplies. Loose leaf paper, pencils, 3-ring binders, funky erasers, 5-subject notebooks, trapper keepers, LL Bean backpacks… A new school year is upon us. Just thinking about it brings up the nerves of the first day, laying out your clothes the night (or week) before, holding that crisp new schedule, figuring out if you had lunch hour with your very best friends, deciding if your teachers would let you get away with turning in an assignment late, checking the inside of your new books to see if you recognized the names of the former students, and jus ...
