Katie + Seth: Fall Wedding at St. Anastasia & the Willows

Wedding

Perhaps you’ll remember Katie and Seth from their lovely e-session we did in Chestnut Hill a few months ago. If their e-session was lovely, their wedding was incredible. There was so much laughter (thanks Elizabeth, Mary, and Steph) and the weather was utterly perfect. Perfect temperature, just enough puffy clouds, just enough wind.

We started the day at The Willows in Radnor as the girls were getting ready and rocking out to Lady Gaga. There were tons of beautiful details, like the necklace and garter that Katie found on Etsy. (The gorgeous garter was made from an old antique brooch, new silk, lace borrowed from a dress, and blue silk.)

I fell in love with the florals. Flowers by Priscilla did a tremendous job with pink roses, purple waxflower, eucalyptus leaves, purple stock, and blue delphinium. Katie’s bouquet was soft and dainty while the other girls had bolder colors with deeper pink roses and purple statice.

Let me tell you that Katie’s dress was the perfect dress for the petite bride. It fit her like a glove. Her makeup was flawless, her curly hair was accented with small pieces of waxflower, and she looked stunning.

The ceremony was held at St. Anastasia’s Church in Newtown Square.

I love this last glance between father and daughter before they walked down the aisle.

Flowergirl Jaylyn made quite an impression on a certain guest…

And didn’t I mention that the girls were an absolute hoot?

We had some time when we returned to the Willows for pictures of the freshly married couple down by the pond. I adore the huge, um, willow tree there.

The geese were not incredibly welcoming but I’d have to say that they were the only unpleasant pieces of the day.

Katie and Seth had their first dance to John Hiatt’s “Have a Little Faith in Me” in the glassed-in observatory, surrounded by their friends and family. They had obviously practiced a few moves.

Perfect Setting Catering provided a scrumptious spread with risotto, meat, and vegetable stations.

And I had never before seen a cake like theirs. It was a 4 tier confection by Sweet Jazmines with a sugared blueberry trail down the front.

Thanks to Bucky Scott, guests were still having a blast on the dance floor as my awesome second shooter, Gary, and I left.

What a fantastic day. Katie and Seth, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of it!

You see time, time is our friend
Cause for us, there is no end
And all you gotta do, is have a little faith in me
~ John Hiatt, “Have a Little Faith in Me”

Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Glen Foerd Mansion | Jen + Joe
We had a few days of strange 80+ degree days and then came the day for Jen and Joe’s wedding and Glen Foerd Mansion. It was chilly and damp, which really only made the grand estate feel more proper somehow. The beautiful venue on the Delaware River was vibrant with green and overflowing with history and charm. It’s a place Jen has known practically her whole life.Despite coordinating a wedding and four very little ones, Jen looked radiant. They had a first look before the ceremony. It was great to wander the grounds and spend some quiet time together. As I said, Glen Foerd is beautiful and oh-so-charming.The ceremony was held in the drawing ...

Philadelphia Area Wedding Photographer | Sunnybrook Golf Club | Riley + Gardner
Riley and Gardener planned their wedding with one goal: have fun.  (Okay, fine, two goals: have fun and get married.)  I would say they hit it out of the park. The to-be-weds got ready with their closest people at their respective parents’ houses in Chestnut Hill.  It was only right that the wedding play out this way since they met when they were 6 years old and started dating at the Junior prom while at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy so many years ago. Riley carried her late grandfather’s handkerchief with her on the wedding day.  He just missed the wedding by a few months.  She also wore her great-grandmother’s beautiful sapphire br ...

Jenica + Heath: Jewish Wedding at the City Club of San Francisco
I have kind of gotten behind in my posting but I wanted to share this beautiful wedding between Jenica and Heath that I shot with the talented Lisa of Lisa Leigh Photography. My day started with the groom and his groomsmen at Barber Lounge in San Francisco. I don't know how they came across it but it was simply perfect and oh-so-trendy. It's on the third floor in an old building in SOMA and has these great old windows across the front of the reception area. It stretches back with lots of space filled with hair stylists, masseuses, and, of course, barbers. If you get a chance, I highly recommend checking this place out. It's just so unli ...
