Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Philadelphia Museum of Art | Erin + Scott

Engagement

It was just last month that Erin and Scott celebrated their 5 year anniversary of that fateful night in March when they met at a bar for a birthday party. They chatted and had arranged a date by the next week.

I entered the picture a few months ago when they contacted me about photographing their wedding coming up this June at Castle Yacht Club in New Jersey. I was excited to meet them in person for their engagement session around the Philly Art Museum just the other week. Spring was in full bloom and I was psyched to make use of it. We had perfect puffy clouds, lots of light, color everywhere, and a touch of wind for good measure.

We made our way around Waterworks and up to the front of the museum.

I love this series of images we got on the steps there.

They had talked about rings a few weeks before Christmas and Erin was hopeful. They opened presents early Christmas morning and there was no bling to be found. She was a little disappointed. They were getting ready to clean up and get ready for the rest of the day when Erin asked about her phone. Scott told her it was by the door and when she turned around, she found him decked out in a suit, flowers in hand, and on one knee with a gorgeous ring. It was perfect.

They’re big sports fans so it was important to pay homage to the Phillies for the engagement pictures so they donned some red shirts (don’t you just looooove Erin’s VS striped T?) and we played in the greenery of the azalea garden.

The wedding is just around the corner! Can’t wait to see you two so soon! P.S. Erin’s hair is naturally super curly. I’m incredibly impressed with how awesome it looked for the shoot and even more excited to see it in ringlets for the wedding.

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Rittenhouse Square | Abby + Eli
Rittenhouse Square is classic Philly and I have been there many, many times for engagement sessions because it’s so iconic. Abby and Eli picked the area because it’s theirs. They live here and know the streets, houses, dogs, and shops. These are my favorite kinds of engagement sessions because I don’t just get to see two people in love, I get to see them in their place. We wandered around and hit up some of their favorite local spots. Goji, a happily prancing 1.5 year old shiba ino/jindo mix, escorted us.Just look at this face! Ahhhh! And bow tie! These two are really amazing together. They met at her roommate’s birthday party. Chester County Engagement Photographer | Longwood Gardens | Drea + Steve
Philadelphia sports fans are famous (okay, notorious) for being particularly crazy and fanatical.  I’ve had my Flyers fans and Eagles fans and Phillies fans but Drea and Steve were my first Union fans.  In fact, they owe their relationship to the soccer team. The Philadelphia Union cheering section, the Sons of Ben, had an away game in Montreal 3 years ago.  Steve went with a group of friends and Drea went solo (some friends backed out last minute).  It was on the bus back that Steve and his rowdy friends chatted up Drea.  They were shot down when they invited her out that night. 4 months later at a Union charity event, Ste ...

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Race Street Pier | Denise + Mike
Denise and Mike met one fateful night in Vegas seven years ago. Their story defies the rule: what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. She was there with a bunch of girlfriends to blow off steam and he was there went to celebrate his friends’ MCAT completion. They flirted during that first encounter and met up the next evening to watch the fountain show at the Bellagio. They exchanged numbers and that was that.Until Mike called. She lived in Boston and he was outside of Philly. These phone calls started happening every night and thus began a long distance relationship that lasted for two years. Friends referred to him as ‘Vegas Mike’. One ...
