Engagement
It’s true: Meredith and Dwayne met at a bar 3 years ago. Before you get any ideas, Meredith was there for a fundraising event (I have no excuses for Dwayne – he was there for a bachelor party). Dwayne got her number and used it (twice) to set up a date at Chris’ Jazz Café in Philly – a really great little venue downtown. Thus began a relationship that brings us to this upcoming weekend when Meredith and Dwayne tie the knot.
First we had to get in some engagement pictures. It was chilly but we made it work at the desolate West Fairmont Park by the Horticulture Center.
I’m so impressed by their relationship. She works 60 hours a week as a principal in a Philadelphia middle school and Dwayne is in DC during the week as a Medical Service Corps Officer. When they are together, there are lots of sports and going out to eat. And a lot of laughing.
On Valentine’s Day last year Dwayne surprised her with an Oceanfront room at Revel. They went to dinner at Serafina where he slickly slid the ring across the table. She demanded “are you sure?!” several times before giving him a ‘yes.’ The engagement ring is gorgeous and so unique!
We’re all very lucky that Meredith’s parents did not have to take out ads in Indian papers to find her the perfect mate. I am looking forward to seeing these two again this weekend for what is sure to be a fantastic wedding at Aldie Mansion!
