Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | West Fairmount Park | Meredith + Dwayne

Engagement

It’s true: Meredith and Dwayne met at a bar 3 years ago. Before you get any ideas, Meredith was there for a fundraising event (I have no excuses for Dwayne – he was there for a bachelor party). Dwayne got her number and used it (twice) to set up a date at Chris’ Jazz Café in Philly – a really great little venue downtown. Thus began a relationship that brings us to this upcoming weekend when Meredith and Dwayne tie the knot.

First we had to get in some engagement pictures. It was chilly but we made it work at the desolate West Fairmont Park by the Horticulture Center.

I’m so impressed by their relationship. She works 60 hours a week as a principal in a Philadelphia middle school and Dwayne is in DC during the week as a Medical Service Corps Officer. When they are together, there are lots of sports and going out to eat. And a lot of laughing.

On Valentine’s Day last year Dwayne surprised her with an Oceanfront room at Revel. They went to dinner at Serafina where he slickly slid the ring across the table. She demanded “are you sure?!” several times before giving him a ‘yes.’ The engagement ring is gorgeous and so unique!

We’re all very lucky that Meredith’s parents did not have to take out ads in Indian papers to find her the perfect mate. I am looking forward to seeing these two again this weekend for what is sure to be a fantastic wedding at Aldie Mansion!

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Bella Vista | Joanna + John
I could go on and on about Joanna and John for a very long while. About how he’s obviously enamored with her or how impressively fit they are (we’re talking crossfit, paleo fit) or how they’re all kisses and laughter together or how they love creating masterpieces in the kitchen with one another or how they simply rock. Because they do. Hard. But I’d rather get you to the pictures from their engagement session around Philadelphia’s Queen Village/Bella Vista where they live. We had a fabulous time wandering around the streets and parks and basking in some of the most incredible light.See for yourself! So the way these two met was interesting ...

Chester County Engagement Photographer | Longwood Gardens | Jennifer + Mark
Many people who meet at school do so over beer in some bar. Not Jennifer and Mark. They’re far classier than that nonsense. They met at a wine tasting at Oxford. Mark is very, very into wine (he was president of the Oxford University Wine Society) and they promise to divulge some great wineries to me for my future travels. This is often a focal point for their travels as they both love wine and cooking.Though they both live in England, Jennifer grew up in Penn Valley and so they came back for their engagement session (and their wedding at the Atrium at the Curtis Center this August). It was a blustery but bright day when we wandered aro ...
