Si and Tanard turned the tables on everyone this weekend and celebrated a wedding that was totally them. The “dress rehearsal” on Friday night was actually the wedding ceremony and Saturday was all about a great, big party.

I learned a new word at Carla and Ben’s wedding: schvitz. It’s a Yiddish verb meaning ‘sweat’ and we all did a lot of it on that 100+ heat index day. As Ben’s eternally happy sister proclaimed, “it’s in to be schvitzy”. As hot as it was, the wedding was beautiful! It was held at up and coming Quarry Hill Farm in Harleysville, PA and was everything Carla had imagined: fresh, organic, local, and spectacular! Sophie and Ben’s day must have been held on the most hot and stiflingly humid day of the year.  As a fellow curly-headed woman, I understood that pictures outside were not an option.  Thankfully, it wasn’t an issue.  We had amazing light and opportunities right where we were. The ladies and gents got ready at Philadelphia’s funky Hotel Palomar down by Rittenhouse Square.  Sophie’s gown came out of a fairy tale.  It was delicate, simple, and was perfection on the graceful and statuesque Sophie.  She had been looking for a wedding dress for 6 months before she tried on the Shareen Vintage frock.
