Delaware Newborn Photographer | Wilmington Home | Jackson

Family

I want to cover my walls with this little guy.  Jackson came out as 6lbs, 9oz of 100% adorableness.  That’s not an easy feat since it often takes a little bit for babies to sort out all of that squishing from the previous 40 weeks.

He certainly made Katelin work for it though.  31 hours of labor and she never felt the effects of her epidural due to a medical condition.  31 hours!!!  And then he had the nerve to come out with the umbilical cord around his neck.  His parents are fashionable so it makes sense that he’d be accessorizing at an early age.

Katelin was positive he would be a girl.  James had a hunch he might get a boy.  I was eagerly awaiting their call after taking Katelin’s gorgeous maternity pictures not long before.  I was happily greeted at their Wilmington, DE home by puppy Remy.

Remy had decided to abstain from voicing an opinion either way but made sure she was on hand for any and all excitement.

So there he was, a super sweet baby boy and parents who were absolutely smitten with him.

Jack had a serious case of FOMO during the session.  He was into all of the attention and would. Not. Go. To. Sleep!  We caught a small nap early on but then it was back to the party.

Daddy James was clearly over the moon for his little man.  He oozed love for this thing that he had only known for two weeks.  He (correctlly) felt Katelin was a goddess in her own right.

It took  a momentous effort of shushing, rocking, holding, milk, and a little voodoo.

But we finally got him to rest those big, grey peepers.

Total goddess, right?!  And to think she had previously been worried about losing the weight!  Ha!

James designed and created the beautiful grey and white gender-neutral nursery.  The banner welcomed the baby they called “Little Foot” in utero.

Thank you Katelin, James, and Remy for inviting me in and introducing me to such a stinking adorable and sweet baby.  Love you, Jack!

the Connollys: a Family Session in Grapevine, Texas
I was in Texas last week visiting some of my awesome family. In return for the trip of pure rest and relaxation (including a pedicure), I promised them a fun family photo session. So Val, Pat, Heather, Andrew, and I took off to the Gaylord Texan Resort and Conference Center in Grapevine. The place was amazing. It had four and a half acres of indoor gardens and waterways.I love this one of my aunt and uncle. It is one of my favorites of the session. And I love these of my family. They had a cheesy saloon setup inside the resort. Because really, what's Texas without a saloon? I just couldn't help myself. The resort had some really cool backdr ...

Philadelphia Newborn Photographer | Chestnut Hill | Hero
Dearest Hero, you were the best behaved newborn I've ever seen.  I hope you are this fabulous to your delightful parents (and brother, Bonecrusher) for the rest of your life. Hero was so wonderful - she was alert and looking around sweetly when the time called for it. And she snoozed peacefully and let me squish her up when we needed her drowsy.  We shot their newborn session at their home in Chestnut Hill. Hero was a name Preston and Jillian kept coming back to after they first saw it as a character in Much Ado About Nothing years ago.  "Hero" has its origins as a tale in Greek mythology of forbidden love and a Romeo/J ...
