Philadelphia Proposal Photographer | Philadelphia Art Museum | Kath + Brian

Engagement

Brian and I had been exchanging emails and ideas for a few weeks.  The plan was to propose to his wonderful girlfriend, Kath on a day filled with delightful surprises.

It was the first truly chilly day of the year.  Earlier they had gone on a helicopter ride over the city (disguised as a birthday gift to him).  They then stopped at Bishop’s Collar in Fairmount near where Kath used to live.  Brian was texting me updates so I could watch for their arrival.

During the proposal, groomsmen from a wedding burst in with cheers and watching from afar.  Some tears and lots of happiness and there was a definite YES!

Brian had asked me to pick up champagne so that they could toast immediately afterwards.  It wasn’t going to be easy for him to conceal a bottle of bubbly.

They called Kath’s parents who noted the brand new bling and gave them happy wishes.

Kath was not able to stop looking at the diamond ring.  She was in love.  It was her grandmother’s ring that she had admired since she was a child.  It held immense sentimental value to her.

Though several friends were in on it, making and breaking false plans for the day, Kath suspected nothing!  What’s more, she looked this good without knowing what on earth was going on that day!

The two met at LaSalle 10 years ago and had always been close friends.  The romantic connection didn’t happen until 2 years ago when they saw what many others had before them.  She had honestly been slightly worried.  Brian had told her that a proposal was imminent in 2017 and, well, it was November already.

The smiles and laughter were contagious.  These are the moments I love.  The irrepressible glee during a proposal is like nothing else!  Kath’s big, brown eyes sparkled and Brian beamed with pride when calling her his fiancée.

There was more in store that evening.  After our session, he whisked her away to dinner at the Capital Grille in the city and then met up with friends and family at Maggie’s.  It was so much fun.  Brain, fantastic job with everything!  Both of you, have an incredible time planning this next stage of life!

It’s fabulous, it’s fantasy, it knocks me out tremendously – your love for me
It never was obtainable, and now it’s unexplainable – your love for me
It’s priceless and it’s precious; it’s a joy to reveal
It’s hard to believe just how lucky in love you have made me feel
It’s lovable, it’s lyrical, it’s something of a miracle – your love for me

Engagement Photography at Morris Arboretum in Philadelphia: Jessica + Camren
Remember Matt and Julia? Well this isn’t them. This is Jessica and Camren – Cam was one of Matt’s groomsmen. They all knew each other from college at the University of Delaware where Jessica and Camren first met. Both were rugby players and hung out in the same social circles as “buddies” before finally making things legit about three years ago. They’re totally laid back and comfortable. They complement each other so well – for one thing, she’s always hot and he’s always cold. We met up at Morris Arboretum for their engagement session and had a great time (despite the bee stings). The light was glorious. They were cracking each other (an ...

Not a soul around for Meredith and Dwayne’s engagement session this past weekend. That was probably because they all left at “closing time”. Suckers. More soon!
