Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Old City | Sam + Matt

Engagement

Remember when we had color outside?  I miss it.  Thankfully I still had Sam and Matt’s engagement pictures from one of the last colorful days of the year.  We skipped around Old City for some cobblestone streets and classic Philly feels.

The afternoon was blue and clear.  Race Street Pier is always a great starting point.

They mentioned that they saw the brand new Cherry Street Pier so we checked it out and were so pleasantly surprised.  The open iron rafters and views of the water were just perfection!  Sam explained Matt’s wandering to check out the plants.  He’s big into gardening and often stops them to point out certain plants and flowers to her.  It’s fitting that they’ll be married at Bartram’s Gardens next year.

Sam and Matt met in a bar about four years ago; they were set up by their best friends.

They were in Maine for some outdoorsy travel at Acadia National Park this October.  They had gone on a 25 mile bike ride and 2 hikes that day.  It was after this physical day that Matt popped the question to Sam.  She was completely surprised.  He had had the ring with him all day.  The baguettes and side stones came from his grandmother’s ring.

Though I’m disappointed they didn’t bring their bulldog/pitt mix to the session, I loved playing around with these two.  Matt showed some major talent during the skipping portion of the shoot.

I can’t wait to see what they create for their gorgeous fall wedding next year!  Congrats again, Sam and Matt!

“Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.”

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Old City | Kate + Dakota
I’m guessing Dakota won’t appreciate this but… Kate and Dakota’s cuteness is out of control!  They are so flipping adorable together.  I was warned that Dakota isn't great in front of the camera but I think Kate was just trying to keep my expectations super low so that they could blow them out of the water.  Total naturals, these two! The two dated in eighth grade and he broke her heart (he wanted to hang out with his guys instead of having a girlfriend). This is a woman who knows what she wants.  Kate continued to pursue him in high school.  She hung around with him and his friends until he asked her out again.  Their first dat ...
