I have re-started this blog post about a half dozen times now. I’m simply overwhelmed with the magnitude of 2013 and the promise of 2014.
And those are just 2013 personal really big deals.
Lindsay Docherty Photography had its own spectacular year with:
2014 is gearing up to be more incredible than I could ever have hoped. Going into the new year, this is the most weddings I have ever had on the books by January. 2015 booking has already begun too! Yeesh! This means that a) it would be a really good idea to book pronto if you’ve been putting it off and b) it would be fantastic if you could pass my name along to couples who you think would really like my style.
Also coming up in the new year:
• a new LDP website
• the LDP Best of 2013 Contest
• more boudoir sessions
• more family sessions
• an LDP party
• some fabulous collaboration projects
• my own wedding (holy s#@*!)
I recently made a little sign for the bedroom to remind me how fortunate I am. It reads, “so lucky.”
And I am.
Happy New Year!

“All the luck in the world has to come every year, in every part of every year, or there is not a harvest and then the luck, the bad luck will come and everything we are, all that we can ever be, all the Einsteins and babies and love and hate, all the joy and sadness and sex and wanting and liking and disliking, all the soft summer breezes on cheeks and first snowflakes, all the Van Goghs and Rembrandts and Mozarts and Mahlers and Thomas Jeffersons and Lincolns and Ghandis and Jesus Christs, all the Cleopatras and lovemaking and riches and achievements and progress, all of that, every single damn thing that we are or ever will be is dependent on six inches of topsoil and the fact that the rain comes when it’s needed and does not come when it is not needed; everything, every…single…thing comes with that luck.”
