Chester County Engagement Photographer | Valley Forge National Park | Lily + Greg

Engagement

This is a story of high school sweethearts.  Lily and Greg were lab partners in physics class.  She took him to her junior prom, he took her to his senior prom, they went on an official first date, and I got to hang out with them on a blustery fall day 5 years later.

Greg went off to Penn State for college.  He came back that fall on a surprise visit and asked her to be his girlfriend.

Lily went to Villanova and they continued their relationship long distance.   Greg knew within a year of dating that she was the one he was going to marry.

The gorgeous ring (blue diamonds + his grandmother’s center stone) was in his possession for 8 days when he popped the question.  They had gone to dinner and came home, sitting on the sofa together, when he asked her to marry him.  He had been sick earlier that week and put the ring in the back of the kitchen cabinet to hide it.  He was petrified that she would see the bag when Lily came over and was searching for pots and pans to make him food.  Crisis averted and she missed it.

The two will be married at St. Thomas of Villanova next October.  I’m hoping this next year flies by.  I can’t wait to see them again!

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Philadelphia Museum of Art | Kate + Kevin
This session had already been postponed once and I had already called it off on this day due to impending thunderstorms. I am soooo thankful that I kept refreshing weather.com because the evening for Kate and Kevin’s engagement session was a thing of dreams. We met at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and were given the most perfect light, clouds, and scenery. Oh, and a beautiful, happy couple. As for these two: Kate and Kevin. They’re pretty much destined to save the world. They met five years ago at a homeless shelter (Kevin runs it, Kate was volunteering). One 10 minute conversation and Kevin was smitten. He knew. They went out on two ...

Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Old City | Sam + Matt
Remember when we had color outside?  I miss it.  Thankfully I still had Sam and Matt’s engagement pictures from one of the last colorful days of the year.  We skipped around Old City for some cobblestone streets and classic Philly feels. The afternoon was blue and clear.  Race Street Pier is always a great starting point. They mentioned that they saw the brand new Cherry Street Pier so we checked it out and were so pleasantly surprised.  The open iron rafters and views of the water were just perfection!  Sam explained Matt’s wandering to check out the plants.  He’s big into gardening and often stops them to point out certain pla ...

Montgomery County Couples Photographer | Valley Forge National Park | Elizabeth + Matthew
It was drizzly and traffic was bad but the colors were incredible, the location was perfect, and Elizabeth and Matthew were awesome. The last time I saw them was on a cold and rainy day last December as they said their vows in a small wedding at Philadelphia City Hall. Now, as the old married couple that they are, we romped around Valley Forge National Park for a love shoot. This was a pretty ideal location for them. Elizabeth worked at VFNP this past summer, keeping her nose to the ground looking for birds’ nests. They’re both very active and love the outdoors. They had actually just come back hiking in the Delaware Water Gap and campi ...
