Philadelphia Engagement Photographer | Philadelphia Museum of Art | Emily + Leonardo
Engagement
It is my great pleasure to introduce Nelly (and her pets, Emily and Leonardo)! These three drove down from Massachusetts the other week for their engagement session around Philly’s beautiful Art Museum.
A few things about these three: Emily is sweet as pie, Leonardo is quite the charmer, and Nelly is big on squirrels. Emily and Leonardo met online and shared their first date at a wine bar that Emily’s friends crashed, sitting a few booths down facing Leonardo. He was apparently unfazed as he managed to set up more dates with Emily, stretching a chalkboard project from a trip to a sketchy flea market into several dates together and trips to Home Depot which has evolved into hiking trips, a vegetable garden, movies, and raising this sweet pup. It all worked out perfectly.
Despite a little bit of wind and some briskness, the day was beautiful. We started in the azalea garden behind the museum.
Emily’s parents took Nelly off for some beauty rest after her time in front of the camera and we explored on.
Emily was on the crew team in high school (yay, Lower Merion!) so boathouse row and especially Bachelor’s held a special place for her.
Leonardo was getting peckish so we stopped for some chocolate chip cookies. Naturally.
I really like the story of their proposal. He took Emily to the beach the day after her graduation from med school. It was a beach in the cape that they had visited with Nellie before. It was cold and raining. He had the ring on a chain that he has worn around his neck since he was a teen. He kept checking it all day to make sure it was still there. They got to the beach and he asked Emily if she would help him with the latch. That’s when she saw it.
I can’t wait for their wedding this September at the Farmhouse at People’s Light and Theater. It’s going to be fantastic; trust me on this.
Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you’ll look back and realize they were big things.
