Personal

I had a fantastic birthday this year. Brunch, a trip to the flower show, a delicious dinner, a bright green rain jacket, and cameras. Lots of awesome vintage cameras. They are long past their prime functionally but they’re ideal for me. I love the dusty pieces, the heavy hinges, and the thought that they could have captured just about anything. Maybe one of them belonged to a wedding photographer. Or perhaps a wartime photojournalist. Or more likely, a mother or father who wanted pictures of the family. And I love that. History passed through these lenses and now might reside in leather bound albums or pewter picture frames. I think that’s pretty incredible.

Every month I feature new images for download for you to use as your desktop background. Click to download it and see it at its huge size and resolution.

Please note these images are made available for personal use only.

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.

In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lion
I don't know how far reaching it was, but last Sunday's weather here in Narberth was spectacular! I heard that it reached into Philly, Drexel Hill, Havertown, Moorestown, and parts of New Jersey.I had taken Emma out for a walk and couldn't help but notice that the sky was this crazy peach and smokey blue. I came home and switched out Emma for my camera to photograph it. The sky really did look smokey. The clouds were insane depending on which direction you looked. This was the view from by back porch. Not five minutes after returning, we heard this quick spattering on the roof. Emma and I ran to the window to see hail coming down and pingi ...
