Riley and Gardener met when they were 6. They lived close to each other while growing up which is good because they’ve been dealing with a lot of long distance since dating. He asked her to the junior prom in 10th grade and they’ve been together ever since.
It seemed only perfect that we would get together for their engagement session right in their back yard, Wissahickon Park via Chestnut Hill.
They have seemingly traveled all over the world together through family vacations in Georgia, Massachusetts, and Colorado as well as Puerto Rico and too many other places for me to remember.
The closeness for their first few decades of life was useful because they’ve had to spend quite a while apart since then – Gardner travels for weeks at a time for work, recently in Scranton and Rhode Island. Riley spent a year as a snow bum in Telluride.
I so love Riley’s unique blue sapphire and diamond engagement ring.
When they show up in the same place at the same time, you can find them playing squash, skiing, and watching Eagles games.
Their wedding is this November at Sunnybrook Golf Club and I fully expect a crazy dancing crowd!
