Jessica and Gaston were married in Argentina last year. They live there and came to the States for a wedding reception to celebrate with more of her friends and family who couldn’t make it down for the event. We met on a gorgeous day in Rittenhouse Square. Jessica wore a breezy cream and white crochet gown that had a very boho feel, accented by her flats.
Her long hair was pulled into a beautiful curly updo with some tea roses.
Gaston cleaned up nicely, looking so smooth and dapper. Thankfully, I was able to get some smiles out of him and his brothers.
There was no official wedding party, only close friends and family there to celebrate the love.
The three of us spent some time taking in some of Philly’s most wonderful streets around Rittenhouse.
I asked them about how their love happened. She met him through a friend while she was in Argentina. She needed to borrow a particular book and he had that book. He’s a playwright and she was in the country studying literature.
Of course the two have a way with words. He says that what he loved about her was “everything and nothing,” that the connection was “biological.” To Jessica, “their souls are the same.” Could it be any more romantic?!
They had one date a few days before she was leaving and they clicked. This started a very long distance relationship that involved countless flights between the US and Argentina and a lot of Skyping.
Jessica and Gaston had their stateside reception at Davio’s Steakhouse. The views from the roofdeck gave out of town guests a real feel for Philly.
One guest in particular totally charmed me.
As you can imagine from a group whose first wedding celebration ran from 8pm to 6am, the reception was a ball! The husband and wife danced in to the room and didn’t stop smiling for the rest of the night!
There was plenty of laughter and embarrassment through the toasts. Special shout out to the impressive interpreters for the Spanish-speaking audience in attendance.
Beyond that, there was a rocking dancefloor that could not be stopped!
What a beautiful day and magnificent way to celebrate in the union of these two very special people whose future together was clearly written in the stars.
