Sara and Rob brought class (and teeth) to Philadelphia City Hall last month for their small but marvelous November wedding. It was only a few weeks prior that I was out with them and their furry baby, Boz, for an engagement session in New Jersey.
This was practically a fancied up engagement session with a wedding ceremony thrown into the mix. And it was wonderful! Sara wore a tea-length BCBG dress and carried a fallsy bouquet of calla lilies, tea roses, hypericum berries, and orchids from Eastwick’s Florist. She (occasionally) wore pretty navy blue pumps (and very couture flip flops otherwise). The silk flower in her hair came from Etsy. Rob, a police officer, sported scales of justice cuff links.
We made use of City Hall’s awesome stairwells. The rest of the building is fairly meh but those stairs are gorgeous. The perfect place to show off this equally gorgeous couple.
We gathered in the outer room with several other nervous to-be newlyweds before we were called in for the ceremony. (Though only one couple there looked this fine.)
It didn’t take long before we gathered in the ceremony room – filled with books and a delightful justice of the peace. Supposedly there’s a capacity limit for friends and family. Supposedly. Sara’s best friend, Sarah, was literally shaking as she handed over the rings. It was adorable.
We took a few quick family formals outside before wandering around for more pictures of the two.
Our first stop was Philly’s Love Park (of course) where Sara and Rob were met with applause from tourists and a few choice photo bomb opportunities.
(That’s all for you, Sarah!)
We walked towards the Ritz Carlton on Broad Street where Sara and Rob were to rejoin their family for revelry after the pictures.
We wandered back towards Time, where Rob had proposed just a few months earlier. (If this all seems vaguely familiar, it is.) The staff there was gracious enough to open their doors early so we could get in for some pictures. We had the whole place to ourselves.
Sara and Rob, it was an absolute joy to share your day with you. A million congratulations!
I just want to see my baby
Standing right outside my door
Oh I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is…
You
