New York City Wedding Photographer | Central Park | Angela + Rob

Wedding

As you might remember from their Rittenhouse engagement session, Angela and Rob’s wedding was a solid 13 years in the making.  The engagement session was rained or humidity-ied out more times than I’d like to think about but that was only because the wedding day itself gave us perfect weather.

I began at Angela and Rob’s apartment where they were both getting ready – separated by a sheet with Maggie, a 3 year old bulldog, granted access to both the bride and the groom.  Angela was a rockstar in the weeks leading up to the wedding, heading to Crossfit 6x/week and speaking in all sorts of Crossfit lingo.  (Truth be told, she was dreaming of the days after the wedding when she could indulge in sleep, nachos, and guac!)

Her beautiful, tulle-layered gown was found at the very first shop she visited.

Their Queens high rise has fantastic views over Gantry Park.

Angela and Rob shared their first look on the piers there, then brought Maggie into the mix.

Angela created the “I do too!” bandana for sweet Maggie.

We gathered together and left for Central Park for more pictures and the ceremony.  It was so nice to have time to just play and wander around the paths for a little while before the ceremony.

Though the relationship had been going on for over a decade, the wedding itself was kept intimately small.  They decided to hold it in the picturesque Shakespeare Garden.

After the vows, we shot some family formals by Belvedere Castle.  A little girl locked eyes on Angela and was thrilled when the “princess” consented to take some pictures with her.

We headed on to the reception at Riverpark in Manhattan where a larger group of friends and family were waiting to celebrate.

Angela has infused some adorable touches to the dinner party.  Each of the tables was named for famous couples (Fred & Wilma, Homer & Marge, Popeye & Olive Oyl).  There was a Haribo gummi bar with about a dozen different types of gummis for guests to take at the end of the night.

A veritable feast (lamb ribs, beef brisket, sautéed branzino) was served to the guests family-style.

Angela also made the cake topper – her, Rob, and Maggie.  The topper’s dress was created from scraps from her own gown.

It was a beautiful day for a wedding in the Big Apple.
