Philadelphia engagement photographer | Rittenhouse Square | Angela + Robert
Engagement
I had to begin wondering if this engagement session would ever come. Angela and Robert were coming down from New York and we had rain plan A-F for a myriad of dates. Finally I saw them on an overcast day in Philly for their whirlwind engagement session around Rittenhouse Square.
The two have been together for 13 years, meeting while working together at the Sports Authority in Queens. He was a “bad boy” who smoked cigarettes and had an Abercrombie jacket. She was smitten.
Robert was two hours late in picking her up for their first date. He forgot her house number and knocked on every door up and down the street until he gave in and called her from a payphone at a local 7-11.
They’ve moved around a bit since then. Angela came to Philadelphia to go to school at Penn and Robert followed and attended Temple.
Their “engagement story” is unconventional. They had planned a vacation to Turks and Caicos. When talking to her sister about it, her sister mentioned that the trip sounded like a honeymoon. With that, Angela emailed Robert (it’s the easiest way to get in touch with him) and suggested they get hitched. And so it was that they began planning a “honeymoon with a wedding tacked on”.
One of the initial plans (I.A.b.4) involved their 3 year old bulldog, Maggie. The trip would have been a little too much for her but we’ll be seeing her at their wedding later this month in New York!
