Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Knowlton Mansion | Casey + Eric

Wedding

125 guests and several continents arrived to celebrate Casey and Eric’s wedding at the beautiful Knowlton Mansion in Northeast Philly. (Remember their wintery Princeton engagement session?) You’d never know this 130+ year old mansion was there unless you were looking for it and once you find it, BAM!, you’re presented with this slate roofed, three story Victorian masterpiece with brass chandeliers, hardwood floors, stained glass windows, and manicured gardens. It’s kind of crazy.

Casey, Eric, and guests gathered here on what would have been Casey’s grandparents’ 64 wedding anniversary. She knew of the venue because her grandparents used to live right down the street. Casey carried her grandmother’s angel pin and great aunt Elsie’s handkerchief with her that day.

There is no doubt that their Casey and Eric’s sense of humor made an appearance. Check out the wording on their rsvp cards.

They did a first look and formals before the ceremony so that they could get to the party during cocktail hour.

Oh, right, and I forgot to mention that there are ponies on the property.

And a wine cellar!

The ceremony took place outside under perfectly overcast skies.

I really like the hand binding ceremony that they incorporated into the service.

Eric’s phone reads: “Update Status: Can’t figure out how to properly do it so this will have to do… MARRIED TO”

We retired into the intricately decorated rooms and the stunning conservatory with impossibly tall beamed ceilings for the cocktail hour and reception.

They shared their first dance to Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are the Best Thing.”

The food by Conroy Catering was spectacular. For dinner there was an Indian station and a carving station in addition to the fantastic cocktail hour passed hors d’oeuvres, pasta station, and a bruschetta station.

“Party animals” just scratches the surface when it comes to this crowd. There was hooting, hollering, whistling, flailing, and so much dancing it would make your head spin. And it was awesome!

Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | College of Physicians |Britt + Paul
This was the first time I had shot a wedding at the College of Physicians in Philadelphia (home to The Mütter Museum) and it was absolutely wonderful.  As I had seen from their engagement session (with their pugs!), I knew that I could expect these two to take the day in stride. Britt’s getup was beautiful.  I adored the cobalt blue peep-toe heels she wore under her dress and the cathedral length veil. I know she looks like a model (her hair stayed perfectly coiffed the entire day), Britt is anything but a princess.  Even with her curvy figure, glass blue eyes, and porcelain skin, it’s simply not her. Britt and Paul shared ...

Sarah + Jason: a Quaker wedding in Doylestown, PA
Let's dust off the blog, shall we? Seems it has a bit of holiday glitter mixed with wedding season dust bunnies.I must tell you about Sarah and Jason's wedding from the fall. It was an incredible wedding! Sarah was one of the happiest, sunshinest brides I've ever met. And it wasn't just because it was her wedding day. It was obvious that she was down to earth and a genuinely positive person. She focused on all of the perfect pieces of the day and disregarded everything else.We started at her family's house in Doylestown. While preparing for a picture, her sister snagged her ring on Sarah's veil and made a hole in it. Tears welled up i ...

Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | All Saints Catholic Church | Stacy & Joe [teaser]
I don’t know what you were doing for Independence Day but I was at a red, white, and blue wedding with the lovely Stacy and Joe. Sure, it was a bit warm, but they looked fantastic! There will be so many more pictures of these two very soon (after all, this was only their first of two weddings)!
