Haesook + Wayne: Engagement Session at Longwood Gardens

Engagement

It’s fun when couples tell me that they’re not really big on PDA; I like a challenge. Haesook and Wayne were one such couple though you’d never believe it by looking at their pictures. They met at Penn through church, were friends for a few years, and then slowly turned that friendship into a romance.

She actually didn’t believe him on the night that he proposed. He picked her up from the airport after visiting family in Korea. He had candles everywhere, pictures of the two of them, he sang to her, and then got down on one knee. Still in a state of jetlag, she thought it was all in fun! Not so.

They’ll be getting married next month with a wedding in North Wales. For right now, check out their fantastic wintery engagement session we had over at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square. We showed up during the orchid extravaganza and wandered through the glorious displays.

I love that these photographs show just how into each other they are.

We braved the cold for some really fantastic shots around the snow covered grounds. Most people were in the greenhouses so we practically had the place to ourselves. It was serene and so beautiful.

And seriously, could they be any more adorable?

Haesook and Wayne informed me of the wonders of Korean dramas and we came up with some absurd plotlines of our own. It was a great afternoon with cuddling, laughing, and some beautiful winter light. I can’t wait for the wedding next month! Thanks again, you two!

Love me and the world is mine.

Rittenhouse Square is classic Philly and I have been there many, many times for engagement sessions because it’s so iconic. Abby and Eli picked the area because it’s theirs. They live here and know the streets, houses, dogs, and shops. These are my favorite kinds of engagement sessions because I don’t just get to see two people in love, I get to see them in their place. We wandered around and hit up some of their favorite local spots. Goji, a happily prancing 1.5 year old shiba ino/jindo mix, escorted us.Just look at this face! Ahhhh! And bow tie! These two are really amazing together. They met at her roommate’s birthday party. Philadelphia Proposal Photographer | Old City | Ashley + John
It was Ashley and John’s first time in Philadelphia.  They have a history of going to baseball games in different stadiums so they had picked a Phillies game for John’s birthday trip. John and I had been planning this for some time.  We had changed the date a bit when other events came up on Ashley’s calendar and we wanted to avoid suspicion. The temperatures were around 100 that day but Ashley and John arrived at Race Street Pier as expected.  He and I had gotten into the details of the surprise proposal.  I had drawn a heart at the spot where I wanted him to stop so that the blue Ben Franklin Bridge would be behind them. It ...
