Personal

We bought a house in June. After moving around all my life (28 addresses at last count), I am thrilled to put down roots and have a permanent base (I still plan on as many adventures as possible). This is crazy and exciting and terrifying and amazing all wrapped up in one big, expensive package. We have professionals doing the especially skilled labor (taking down walls, putting up walls, adding a spiral staircase, stuff with electricity, plumbing, gas/oil, and 100 other things). We took on a task that took approximately 5x longer than we originally expected and though it’s nowhere near perfect, we’re pretty proud of ourselves: we painted the kitchen cabinets!

This consisted of exactly:
Countless hours
Many trips to Home Depot
A few new tools
Several choice words
Oodles of pride

We move in soon. We walk around the empty, dust-filled rooms and giggle as if we’re merely playing house. It definitely doesn’t feel like ours yet. I have Pinterest boards and a head full of ideas that have no chance of actualization.  Le sigh.

December Cancun vacation
Ack! It's about freaking time I posted something about my own holidays! Better late than never, right?Holiday Season 2007 felt like constant travel. I can't complain because I saw some great things and reconnected with some great people, but it is sooo tiring to live out of a suitcase for weeks on end.I never did get back to writing about our trip to Cancun in early December. Suffice it to say that it was excellent. I was originally a Spanish major back in college and I was really proud of myself for all of the Spanish I still remembered. Rich and I are total power vacationers – we had plans for every day that we were there so as not to ...

I’d say my date went well
Sadly, we did not get the same table that we had last year for our anniversary dinner last night.Fortunately, the food and conversation were just as good. Instead of grilling each other about everything under the moon like last time, we had a more pointed discussion: a wedding.I have an incredible fiancé and I’m currently wearing the most spectacular ring I’ve ever seen! Ahhhh!"Will you marry me?"~ Andy

Granted, it’s cold and miserable out and there was a possibility of snow today but that’s not going to matter. Why? Because it’s opening day. And in this area, baseball is kind of a big deal. Just a little. This day marks the beginning of a season that brings excitement, anticipation, hope, and happy days spent outdoors. (You hear that, mother nature?!)I lucked out and was offered a ticket for the Phillies’ opening day game. What kind of Philadelphia resident would I be to pass up an opportunity like that? (the answer: a warm one.) If you’re in the stadium with me, give me a holler!Every month I feature new images for download for you ...
