Away

Personal

Sorry I won’t be around for the next two weeks. I am going to Scotland on October 20th, returning to San Francisco on October 29th and flying out to Connecticut a few hours later to shoot a wedding on Halloween.

Unfortunately, my trip to Scotland is not one for fun or weddings, but to see my grandmother who has been struggling with dementia for the past few years and now looks to have lung cancer. She is actually my namesake as her maiden name is Lindsay. I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of my family since my grandmother had 12 children and I have lost count of the cousins I have all over the world.

Hopefully I’ll be back with a few pictures of the beautiful green countryside and some of my relatives too.

Please keep my family in your thoughts.

Thanks,
Lindsay

O flower of Scotland
When will we see
Your like again
That fought and died for
Your wee bit hill and glen
And stood against him
Proud Edward’s army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again

I Run to Stop Multiple Sclerosis
Last year I ran to help stop Multiple Sclerosis. It was a truly emotional and gratifying experience which is why I’m doing it again this year. I've been training for the last few months to run two half marathons this year and my very first full marathon in January. I'm doing it to raise money for the prevention, treatment, and cure of MS.Multiple sclerosis isn't fatal. A diagnosis doesn't mean it's time to run through a bucket list. But what it lacks in fatality it makes up for in disability and incredible challenges. It is a chronic, progressive disease.Multiple sclerosis turns the body against itself and attacks healthy parts of the cent ...

April Facebook Cover Images
I try to post the desktop/cover photos on the first of every month. I’d like to say that yesterday’s lapse was an intentional April Fool’s prank but it wasn’t. It was a case of Lindsay reading. You see, when I get into a book I don’t just read it, I consume it. It happened yesterday. Perhaps you’ve heard of this book. It’s called The Hunger Games.I started and couldn’t stop. I sat there on my bed for a few hours and flew through it, page after page, chapter after chapter until it was completely done. It was 3pm and I was still in my pajamas. I had forgotten about lunch. And then I realized I had places to be and wouldn’t be getting ...

10 tips for Broad Street Run Newbies
The Broad Street Run is an iconic Philadelphia institution.  It’s an easy course at a great time of year with lots of enthusiastic spectators.  I am no elite athlete but I have done the BSR for the last 4 years and have a few half marathons and a full under my (fuel) belt.  If you’ve gotten a spot in the lottery but have never taken part in this piece of Philly history, read on: 1) Dressing for the BSR: check the weather. It will probably be cold when you start. Bring a throwaway sweatshirt with you to toss to the side when the race begins. These clothes are all donated to charity. Pro tip: don’t wear the BSR race shirt you got at the exp ...
