Eastward Bound

Personal

I’ve mentioned that I’ll be moving back to Pennsylvania.  Well, the movers have taken all of my belongings and now the time has come for me to get on a plane early tomorrow morning so I can get to the east coast.

I’ll be spending some time in Ocean City, Maryland where my mom lives while I hunt for a place around the Philadelphia area.
I’m nervous and excited to make this move.  I love the San Francisco Bay Area.  I absolutely love it here.  I love the people, the weather, the scenery, and so much more.  San Francisco has made me feel at home and I’ll miss it incredibly as I fly over the bay tomorrow.
The Philadelphia (Main Line) area is where I am from.  Though I was born in Virginia and moved around a lot, the Main Line is where I feel I “grew up”.  It will be great to come back to old friends and be a lot closer to my mom.  I’m not crazy about the cold winters but it’s a beautiful area and I’m looking forward to rediscovering it all.  It has been far too long since I last went skiing too.
So I may be off the grid for a little bit while I work on finding a home but I will be returning all contact requests as soon as possible.
See you on the East Side!
Nowhere in this country, from sea to sea, does nature comfort us with such assurance of plenty, such as rich and tranquil beauty as in those unsung, unpainted hills of Pennsylvania.

Meet the new COO of LDP, Asher
He is small and sweet and social and so, so happy and I’m truly enamored in a way that I’ve never been before and didn’t quite expect.  I had Asher 6 months ago today after 9 months of heavy prepartum depression and a tiring labor.  Two weeks early, 17 hours of contractions, and an emergency c-section later (goodbye, birth plan!), I had a wiggly, tiny, bird-like baby weighing in at 6lbs 2oz. For a while we called him Mr. Magoo because he was so wrinkly and weak. And he rocked a sweet mullet! Eventually he filled out with plump cheeks, a melon for a noggin, and a dusting of hair.  Possibly because I kept expectations qui ...

Moving Forward
Bad, blogger, bad!Oh my, so I have a lot of make up work to do. I promise that I have been thinking of you but the last few months have been crazy, to say the least. Here's a brief rundown of LDP news…Moved across the country! I am now settled into my new home in Narberth, PA which is right outside of Philadelphia. I grew up around here on the Main Line and am looking forward to getting reconnected with old friends and eating water ice again.Website update. My site (www.lindsaydocherty.com) now has two sites within: weddings and lifestyle. It was time to expand and build a separate site for weddings. The lifestyle site is still dedicat ...

Away
Sorry I won't be around for the next two weeks. I am going to Scotland on October 20th, returning to San Francisco on October 29th and flying out to Connecticut a few hours later to shoot a wedding on Halloween.Unfortunately, my trip to Scotland is not one for fun or weddings, but to see my grandmother who has been struggling with dementia for the past few years and now looks to have lung cancer. She is actually my namesake as her maiden name is Lindsay. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of my family since my grandmother had 12 children and I have lost count of the cousins I have all over the world.Hopefully I'll be back with a few pictu ...
