Personal

December? December?! What? How? When did that happen? I could have sworn it was just October.

Things at Lindsay Docherty Photography are just crazy. Winter is supposed to be slow but if you’ve seen all the blogging the past few weeks and months, you’ll know that there is plenty going on. It’s almost to the point where I need to put “breathe” on my ‘to do’ list just as a reminder. But I can’t complain. Things are pretty awesome. My couples continue to inspire and delight me and looking forward to 2012 has me on pins and needles with excitement.

Things aren’t just busy in my business life, but I’m heading out to Las Vegas on Saturday to run the Rock N Roll half marathon down the Vegas strip on Sunday night. It hits perfectly in my training for my first full marathon next month in Florida at Disneyworld. In the process I’m raising money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. I have another $1440 to go. Please consider donating, even the smallest amount can make a difference. If you missed it, check out the incentive I’ve lined up for donations too.

Every month I feature new images for download for you to use as your desktop background. Click to download it and see it at its huge size and resolution.

Please note these images are made available for personal use only.

“How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?”

The death of my uncle didn’t make the circumstances ideal, but I was glad to see her and some of the family. My family is a bit… quirky. I suppose when the family has 12 children (Scottish and Catholic, go figure) there is bound to be a degree of peculiarity. Some are on speaking terms, some aren't. There is giving and taking and laughter and frustration. It was so good to spend an evening together. Conversations ranged from the macabre to general catching up to scandalous but it felt quite us - no holds barred, no ...

August Facebook Cover Images
We bought a house in June. After moving around all my life (28 addresses at last count), I am thrilled to put down roots and have a permanent base (I still plan on as many adventures as possible). This is crazy and exciting and terrifying and amazing all wrapped up in one big, expensive package. We have professionals doing the especially skilled labor (taking down walls, putting up walls, adding a spiral staircase, stuff with electricity, plumbing, gas/oil, and 100 other things). We took on a task that took approximately 5x longer than we originally expected and though it’s nowhere near perfect, we’re pretty proud of ourselves: we painted ...
