Personal

December? December?! What? How? When did that happen? I could have sworn it was just October.

Things at Lindsay Docherty Photography are just crazy. Winter is supposed to be slow but if you’ve seen all the blogging the past few weeks and months, you’ll know that there is plenty going on. It’s almost to the point where I need to put “breathe” on my ‘to do’ list just as a reminder. But I can’t complain. Things are pretty awesome. My couples continue to inspire and delight me and looking forward to 2012 has me on pins and needles with excitement.

Things aren’t just busy in my business life, but I’m heading out to Las Vegas on Saturday to run the Rock N Roll half marathon down the Vegas strip on Sunday night. It hits perfectly in my training for my first full marathon next month in Florida at Disneyworld. In the process I’m raising money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. I have another $1440 to go. Please consider donating, even the smallest amount can make a difference. If you missed it, check out the incentive I’ve lined up for donations too.

“How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?”

Rain, rain, go away!
I'm all for the green, lush gardens and no water restrictions, but it has rained every day of May so far. I even heard that this is a record number of rainy days in a row for Philly and I'm ready for the sun!Remember what this was like?Don't worry, it'll come again. Until then, we'll have to make do with our rainy days. Being the smart cookie I am, I finally went out last Sunday and bought myself a pair of wellies! In between showers today, the wellies and I went out for a little photo session…And I got a few shots of the garden too.“The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain.” ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

MS Sucks. Don’t you agree?
For the past few years I’ve been raising money for the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. It’s a crazy, miserable, underfunded disease that currently has no known cause and no known cure. The body turns on itself and attacks connections in the brain and spinal cord, causing disability all over the body. It is an unpredictable disease because it takes different forms depending where it strikes – vision, mobility, speech, bladder, memory… These disabilities range in severity as well. It could be as bad as tingling in the legs or complete paralysis. Some victims have symptoms that all or mostly go away after a while but some last. There is ...

Every month I feature new images for download for you to use as your desktop background. Click to download it and see it at its huge size and resolution.I visited Valley Forge National Historical Park a few weeks ago on a scouting mission for a project. I went during "golden hour" and the place was list up beautifully. There's really no better time for lovely, sun-drenched pictures than the hour or so before sunset. I try to schedule all of my shoots around this time so that I can get this gorgeous look. Photographers refer to this as "golden hour" or "magic hour". It's easy to see why.Enjoy!*Please note these images are made available ...
