Personal

2012 is going to be big. Really big. Freaking huge!

I moved to Philadelphia just 3 years ago and I’ll admit that showing up in December 2008 wasn’t the easiest pill to swallow when re-starting a business in a brand new area (remember that recession that hit in late ’08?). In 2009 I learned about the wedding culture in this area (trust me, there are definite differences between Philly and San Francisco) and started to figure out what was what around here. Things took off after that and now I’m busier than I’ve ever been. I’ve had some of the most incredible couples on the planet. I’ve seen weddings that have blown me away, made me cry (in the best possible way), made my heart melt, made me laugh til my stomach hurt, and simply made me say “awwww…”. And I’m pretty sure all of those things will happen again and again in 2012. I’m so thankful to everyone who has helped me since I showed up here – the venues and vendors who trust me and recommend me to their couples, the old friends and family who remind everyone that they know this awesome photographer named Lindsay, the new friends who tell me that they recognize my name and logo and love my work, and my awe-inspiring couples who show me so much love it makes me blush.

Thank you all for welcoming me back to my old home. This is home.

I look forward to 2012 with bright eyes and a bushy tail. I’m mostly booked up for the year and can tell that it’s going to be out of this world!

With this New Year I’m giving you soap! Scrub away any doubts, insecurities, and issues from 2011 and start fresh!

Old paint is peeling
This is that fresh
That fresh feeling

We bought a house in June. After moving around all my life (28 addresses at last count), I am thrilled to put down roots and have a permanent base (I still plan on as many adventures as possible). This is crazy and exciting and terrifying and amazing all wrapped up in one big, expensive package. We have professionals doing the especially skilled labor (taking down walls, putting up walls, adding a spiral staircase, stuff with electricity, plumbing, gas/oil, and 100 other things). We took on a task that took approximately 5x longer than we originally expected and though it’s nowhere near perfect, we’re pretty proud of ourselves: we painted ...

I’m pretty sure I’m one of the 5 people in the world who doesn’t loooooove fall. I enjoy apple cider, pumpkin carving, and the amazing colors in this area but I know that fall is just a few short weeks away from being winter. Winter means frozen fingers and toes, layers that make me look stay-puft, runny noses, bleak landscapes, and a general regional attitude of “I’m sick and cold and miserable so stay away from me.”So as much as I would like to enjoy this season, I just can’t fully give in because I know how bad it will be all too soon. In this area it seems we get a few glorious days of fall before we all have to break out our parkas an ...
