Montgomery County Newborn Photographer | Harleysville | Lena

Family

Joy tried everything to get this little peanut out: acupuncture, prenatal massage, even a castor oil milkshake… EVERYTHING.

But stubborn little Lena was perfectly happy with life on the inside.

She certainly made Joy work for her big arrival.  At two weeks late and after laboring for 32 hours with no progression, they eventually went for a caesarian section.

Like most c-section moms, it wasn’t exactly how they had hoped she would show up but she’s gorgeous and such a perfect little sprite of a baby.  I arrived to photograph her at one week old at their home in Harleysville.

Sibling cat, Darcy, has welcomed this hairless being with grace.

I love the name Lena LaRue (LaRue is grandmother’s name).

She was so sweet and easy throughout the session and it’s clear that Joy and Eric are over the moon.  Congratulations on wee Lena!  She is a doll!  Here’s a recreation of one of Joy and Eric’s wedding pictures in front of their beloved VW bus with one (tiny) new addition.

All those cliches, those things you hear about having a baby and motherhood – all of them are true. And all of them are the most beautiful things you will ever experience.

Philadelphia Newborn Photographer | Bailey
Bailey Ann arrived precisely on her due date with a FULL head of hair (maybe there’s something to that old wives’ tale because Courtney had heartburn through pregnancy).  She has gorgeous flowing locks and there’s no sign that they’re going away. I got to see her when she was about 2 weeks old and cooing, purring, and squeaking up a storm, even in her sleep. She may have daddy’s nose and mouth but Bailey’s eyes locked on to mom, Courtney, throughout the shoot. This silk purse is the same one that Courtney took down the aisle on her wedding day.  The lace came from her own mother's wedding gown.  That's three generations ...

Main Line Family Photographer | the 511 Family
The 511 family shares a very special place for me. They are special in all the ways every family is special: the idiosyncrasies that make them this wonderful little unit. Through Becca’s gift as a skilled writer, she has shared her world through her blogs. 511 Ever After is her home blog. She talks about her décor crushes of the day and the little pieces of happiness that she has brought into her home to make it personal. Mommy, Ever After is her blog about family and her kids. It is filled with the joy of little Belle’s magic and moments of pure kismet and hilarious interactions. It also has stories of tears and despair and pain. It is real. ...

[what to wear] family sessions
Stumped, huh? How on earth do you reconcile all of those personalities into pleasing pictures? Well, it's not so hard.Sometime in the 90s it was decided that people should all wear white shirts and jeans or khakis for family pictures. Set yourself free from that idea right now! You don't want to dress all in the same exact outfit and look like the Von Trapp family or a soccer team. You're each unique individuals so wouldn't you want that to come out in your pictures? You want to go for complimentary, not mirror, looks. Here are some tips:* Take the location and season into account. That sundress may be cute as can be but it's just not g ...
