Montgomery County Wedding Photographer | Quarry Hill Farm | Carla + Ben

Wedding

I learned a new word at Carla and Ben’s wedding: schvitz. It’s a Yiddish verb meaning ‘sweat’ and we all did a lot of it on that 100+ heat index day. As Ben’s eternally happy sister proclaimed, “it’s in to be schvitzy”. As hot as it was, the wedding was beautiful! It was held at up and coming Quarry Hill Farm in Harleysville, PA and was everything Carla had imagined: fresh, organic, local, and spectacular! As a couple who met while gardening, there couldn’t have been a more perfect place.

The couple looked great while they were prepping themselves to see each other that day.

We were able to spend a little bit of time walking around the property before the ketubah signing.

Easily one of my favorite pictures of the day:

Their dog, Sal, was there for emotional support (also present during their Philly engagement session).

They gifted their wedding party custom Chucks!

The rabbi arrived and filled out his part of the ketubah and we had a ketubah signing and a quick rehearsal before heading out for the main event.

The meadow on the property was idyllic. You turn a corner and walk up an incline and you’re surrounded by wildflowers, blue skies, and even a windmill in the distance behind the chuppah.

We got a few more family formals after their Jewish ceremony.

And though the pictures don’t show how hot it really was, trust me…

The reception was at the barn – dinner and toasts were outside and the dancing was indoors. There were fabulous strings of lights everywhere – setting the perfect glow for the evening as the sun went down.

Guests found their seat by way of herb-themed tables. “Nourishing Love,” as Carla called it. The centerpieces were a labor of love that spanned over three parties of painting plant pots. It was a great way of bonding with friends and families before the wedding. Guests were invited to take the plants home after the wedding and continue to feed and love them in their new homes.

The couple of the day arrived and spent the rest of the evening listening to fantastic toasts, watching the fireworks display, eating scrumptious food (including a gourmet ice cream buffet!), and dancing their butts off.

Love, love, love the sheer back on Carla’s wedding gown!

Their first dance was “I Only Have Eyes for You” by The Flamingos.

The Oh, snap! Photo Studio was a resounding success, especially due to the mustaches that everyone had on by the end of the night!

All in all, a beautiful day, a beautiful wedding, and a very beautiful couple.

You are here and so am I
Maybe millions of people go by
But they all disappear from view
And I only have eyes for you

Delaware Wedding Photographer | Hockessin Memorial Hall | Katie + Justin
Katie and Justin are adorable beyond words. She’s a Delaware girl who's happiest when she’s barefoot and he's a Tennessee boy who tries hard not to crack a smile (and completely fails at this). You should remember them from their engagement session in New Castle, Delaware last fall. Their summer wedding was simply joyful. I met up with Katie’s family and the ladies at Katie’s family’s house in Middletown. There were happy little flower girls flitting all around the house. One of my absolute favorite details about the day was the fact that Katie lost her wedding shoes that morning. They were just nowhere to be found. The solution: we ...

Sara + Rob: Intimate Wedding at Philadelphia City Hall
Sara and Rob brought class (and teeth) to Philadelphia City Hall last month for their small but marvelous November wedding. It was only a few weeks prior that I was out with them and their furry baby, Boz, for an engagement session in New Jersey. This was practically a fancied up engagement session with a wedding ceremony thrown into the mix. And it was wonderful! Sara wore a tea-length BCBG dress and carried a fallsy bouquet of calla lilies, tea roses, hypericum berries, and orchids from Eastwick's Florist. She (occasionally) wore pretty navy blue pumps (and very couture flip flops otherwise). The silk flower in her hair came from Etsy. ...

Destination Wedding Photographer | Shelter Island, NY | Valentine + Erich
Valentine and Erich’s stateside wedding fete felt like a great, big, comfortable family reunion that just happened to have a gorgeous woman in a white dress and a very dapper groom by her side (and up on stage). Valentine and Erich were first married in Valentine’s homeland, Greece, the previous month.  After their honeymoon in Santorini, Mykonos, and Geneva, they returned home to New York for a celebration with the Americans at the Shelter Island home of Erich’s late grandfather, Governor Hugh Carey.  Their wedding “invitations” were passport replicas, announcing the destination wedding theme: passport to party. Valentine first wore th ...
