Personal

How is it October already?! I can’t believe how quickly the year has flown by. This month is officially the busiest month I’ve ever had. There are so many incredible weddings that you’ll see splashed across the blog soon. And if you know someone getting married in 2012, tell them to get going because I’m already halfway to my wedding limit for next year. Crazy, right?!

In honor of this fabulous month devoted to baseball, fall colors, and All Hallows’ Eve, I’m giving you some digital candy (if you come by my place I’m happy to give you real candy too, but I’ll expect a trick). Candy corn gets a bad rap. Granted, it tastes just like a bunch of sugar but it’s so quintessentially Halloween and who doesn’t still get at least a little twinge of excitement when thinking back to Hallloweens as a kid and the monstrous amount of loot from a successful night out. So please tell me you’ve got a costume party or two to attend. I expect to hear stories of sugar overload, fabulous costumes, and pumpkin carving.

Every month I feature new images for download for you to use as your desktop background. Click to download it and see it at its huge size and resolution.

Please note these images are made available for personal use only.

Nothing on earth so beautiful as the final haul on Halloween night.

Wedding dress shopping in NYC
Liz, my best friend, came into town last week from Chicago and we had a fun-filled trip of being truly girly. We bought makeup, she gave me an introduction on how to actually use it, and we went to New York City to really indulge in being a bride: dress shopping. I had the day planned with a whirlwind trip to three bridal salons, dinner, and a show on Broadway (btw, Matilda was awesome!). We started at Lovely, a place that lives up to its name. The walls were decked out in Elizabeth Messina prints, big chalkboards, beautiful windows, and softness. It was intimate, comfortable, and well, lovely. Jacqueline walked me through aisles of tull ...

Thanksgiving at Hidden Villa Farm
I have no doubt that I was in good company yesterday: absolutely stuffed!I went to Hidden Villa Farm with Coye and Julie to spend Thanksgiving with Andrew, Julia, Becca, and Lorena. We had a fabulous evening of fantastic food, frisbeeing, farm animals, and conversation (sorry, just couldn't keep the alliteration going). Here's a taste of yesterday! With the amount of food we brought, you'd think we were feeding an army. I'll just try to list the made-from-scratch dishes we had for seven people: brie/blue cheese and crackers, deviled eggs, spinach artichoke dip, turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, green beans with lemon vina ...

April Facebook Cover Images
Good morning!!! (She writes at 12:31pm.)Is it safe to come out? Now that it’s April, do we finally get to pack the scarves and gloves? Will I be able to reconnect with my beloved flip-flops soon? The never-ending Winter and its accompanying entourage, Muck, Malaise, and Misery have made their exit and I feel like I can crawl out from under the covers again. The last few months have been beyond brutal for me. I am a warm-weather gal and I love me some Vitamin D. I know our spring will be cut tragically short but I intend to frolic and bask as much as possible. In my case, that probably just means re-starting my running regimen to get i ...
