Personal

How is it October already?! I can’t believe how quickly the year has flown by. This month is officially the busiest month I’ve ever had. There are so many incredible weddings that you’ll see splashed across the blog soon. And if you know someone getting married in 2012, tell them to get going because I’m already halfway to my wedding limit for next year. Crazy, right?!

In honor of this fabulous month devoted to baseball, fall colors, and All Hallows’ Eve, I’m giving you some digital candy (if you come by my place I’m happy to give you real candy too, but I’ll expect a trick). Candy corn gets a bad rap. Granted, it tastes just like a bunch of sugar but it’s so quintessentially Halloween and who doesn’t still get at least a little twinge of excitement when thinking back to Hallloweens as a kid and the monstrous amount of loot from a successful night out. So please tell me you’ve got a costume party or two to attend. I expect to hear stories of sugar overload, fabulous costumes, and pumpkin carving.

Every month I feature new images for download for you to use as your desktop background. Click to download it and see it at its huge size and resolution.

Please note these images are made available for personal use only.

Nothing on earth so beautiful as the final haul on Halloween night.

December? December?! What? How? When did that happen? I could have sworn it was just October. Things at Lindsay Docherty Photography are just crazy. Winter is supposed to be slow but if you’ve seen all the blogging the past few weeks and months, you’ll know that there is plenty going on. It’s almost to the point where I need to put “breathe” on my ‘to do’ list just as a reminder. But I can’t complain. Things are pretty awesome. My couples continue to inspire and delight me and looking forward to 2012 has me on pins and needles with excitement. Things aren’t just busy in my business life, but I’m heading out to Las Vegas on Saturday ...

What’s with the crickets, Lindsay?
Who has time for personal updates?  I haven't had more than 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep in, well, I couldn't tell you.  At least 7 months when our tiny man, Finn, came on the scene.  Here is what life has been like since then:   So yeah, a lot of these two happy, blue eyed little boys!  It has been a wild ride and more fun, frustrating, heartwarming, maddening, and hilarious than I ever imagined. Now for some sleep!

Winter is the time when I can finally breathe again after the madness of fall and the gazillions of weddings that it brings. I use the winter to deal heavily with the advertising/marketing/business end of it all. It’s also when I have the opportunity for professional education. There’s a photography conference in mid-January and I look forward to it every year. This year the Digital Wedding Forum Convention was held in New Orleans. It gathers some of the biggest rock stars of the industry for small classes, shootouts (not nearly as dangerous as it sounds), mentoring sessions, and an all-around good time. A group of us went out and played ...
