Summer and Matt are a funny couple. Of course they cared and planned their wedding (from Chicago, no less) but when the big day came around, they were like normal people. Granted, most people don’t have a team to help them put on deodorant and dresses, but they seemed like themselves – a very happy Summer and Matt.
We met at the hotel as each prepped in their own rooms. Summer had such fabulous accents – her long flaxen hair worn down with a braid sweeping to the side, fantastic blue-soled rhinestone heels, rose gold jewelry, and a beautiful dress with a sweet pink ribbon around the waist. She only tried on a few and just came back to this A-line gown. As a bonus, it had pockets!
The guys giggled it up in the hotel and in the school bus on the way to their venue, the wonderfully scenic Valley Green Inn in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia.
Matt has such a great smile, right?!
They shared their first look before I took them on a hot and hazardous adventure through nature.
It was great to spend time before the ceremony taking pictures of them and their formals.
Though the weather had predicted rain, we got none until we were safely inside (just the humidity). This meant that we could have the ceremony outside set against the lovely lush backdrop of the Wissahickon Creek. A family friend officiated the service.
For their first order of business after the ceremony, Summer requested Matt get her a pig in a blanket.
They came into their reception with a bang and shared their first dance to “Lucky” by Jason Mraz.
Summer, being a Harry Potter nerd fan, left a cheeky message inside Matt’s ring. Hilarious!
The evening was a hoot! Limbs were swinging and guests were laughing so hard their stomachs hurt. A job very well done!
I’m so glad these two found me (thanks, Yelp!) from so many states away to celebrate with a couple who everyone said seemed, “so relaxed all day.”
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
