Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Valley Green Inn | Summer + Matt

Wedding

Summer and Matt are a funny couple.  Of course they cared and planned their wedding (from Chicago, no less) but when the big day came around, they were like normal people.  Granted, most people don’t have a team to help them put on deodorant and dresses, but they seemed like themselves – a very happy Summer and Matt.

We met at the hotel as each prepped in their own rooms.  Summer had such fabulous accents – her long flaxen hair worn down with a braid sweeping to the side, fantastic blue-soled rhinestone heels, rose gold jewelry, and a beautiful dress with a sweet pink ribbon around the waist.  She only tried on a few and just came back to this A-line gown.  As a bonus, it had pockets!

The guys giggled it up in the hotel and in the school bus on the way to their venue, the wonderfully scenic Valley Green Inn in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia.

Matt has such a great smile, right?!

They shared their first look before I took them on a hot and hazardous adventure through nature.

It was great to spend time before the ceremony taking pictures of them and their formals.

Though the weather had predicted rain, we got none until we were safely inside (just the humidity).  This meant that we could have the ceremony outside set against the lovely lush backdrop of the Wissahickon Creek.  A family friend officiated the service.

For their first order of business after the ceremony, Summer requested Matt get her a pig in a blanket.

They came into their reception with a bang and shared their first dance to “Lucky” by Jason Mraz.

Summer, being a Harry Potter nerd fan, left a cheeky message inside Matt’s ring.  Hilarious!

The evening was a hoot!  Limbs were swinging and guests were laughing so hard their stomachs hurt.  A job very well done!

I’m so glad these two found me (thanks, Yelp!) from so many states away to celebrate with a couple who everyone said seemed, “so relaxed all day.”

Wedding Photography at New York’s Tarrytown House Estate: Emily + Chris
Emily and Chris were the fantastically playful couple that came in second place in the Lindsay Docherty Photography Best of 2010 Canvas Giveaway for their engagement session romping picture. You’d better believe there are already friends out there campaigning for the 2011 contest. The photography I have for you today are from their gorgeous wedding up at Tarrytown House Estate in Irvington, New York. The day was a little drizzly and prevented us from having the ceremony out on the grounds but the event was spectacular. I told them this that night, but this was a family that absolutely oozed with love. I feel weddings bring out the best in ...

Bucks County Wedding Photographer | Aldie Mansion | Michelle + Chris
The day before Michelle and Chris’ wedding was their 9 year anniversary.  That’s pretty impressive.  And, judging by what I’ve seen of them together, there are going to be decades upon decades more for these two.  Their wedding at Aldie Mansion in Doylestown (you know I love that place!) was chock full of fabulous, face-hurts-so-good smiles. Michelle wore a marvelous blush trumpet Maggie Sottero gown with exquisite lace and a flattering sweetheart neckline.  Michelle’s loose curls somehow held their shape all day and she looks positively radiant! Getting the dress on Michelle was quite the procedure and one of the most hilarious pa ...
