Granted, it’s cold and miserable out and there was a possibility of snow today but that’s not going to matter. Why? Because it’s opening day. And in this area, baseball is kind of a big deal. Just a little.

This day marks the beginning of a season that brings excitement, anticipation, hope, and happy days spent outdoors. (You hear that, mother nature?!)

I lucked out and was offered a ticket for the Phillies’ opening day game. What kind of Philadelphia resident would I be to pass up an opportunity like that? (the answer: a warm one.) If you’re in the stadium with me, give me a holler!

Every month I feature new images for download for you to use as your desktop background. Click to download it and see it at its huge size and resolution.

Oh, and by the way, those birthday cupcakes from last month…

Big News for LDP
I've been blogging my photo adventures for over a year now and I've reached my 100th post! I'm taking this special occasion to share some very exciting news for Lindsay Docherty Photography… I'm moving to Pennsylvania! That's right, my west coast days are coming to an end and I'll be making the move in December and going back to where I grew up on the "Main Line" right outside of Philadelphia. The hardest part will be saying goodbye to all the good friends I've made during my stay here and al ...

This is the time for colors in this area. Just look out your window. This is why friends and family think I’m a ghost this time of year. It’s the busiest part of the year for me because the foliage is so vibrant that everyone wants a piece of it! My October dates booked up lickity split and then November did too when I had to let people know October was closed. This means that there are still a ton of sessions and weddings coming up on the blog before the end of the year. And we’re talking some fantastic imagery too! Indoor weddings, outdoor weddings, city hall weddings, boudoir sessions, and engagement sessions like you wouldn’t belie ...

Happy Fourth of July
Wave your little flags, watch the sky for fantastic colors, and eat yourself silly among friends and family! You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism. ~Erma Bombeck
