Brianne + Scott’s wedding at Pen Ryn Mansion

Wedding

I hardly know where to begin with Bree and Scott. This is the gorgeous couple I shot at Longwood Gardens back in March for their engagement session.

They celebrated their wedding at Pen Ryn Mansion in Bensalem, PA, about 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia, on a perfect day in October. It was sunny and 70 degrees after several days of miserable rain and temperatures in the mid 50s. The breeze coming off the Delaware River was just right.

The guys got ready down the street while the ladies had the run of the mansion.

Bree looked incredible. Her ballgown from Ashley’s Bridal Couture had intricate beading and Belle-type pickups. I adore the red bloom she had in her hair.

The ladies were in candy apple red floor length evening gowns, complete with red shoes and red opera gloves.

Bree’s mother, Kim, is an incredibly accomplished quilter and created the ring pillow for the day. Sunflowers are Bree’s favorite so they made appearances throughout the day.

Scott is a Marine and showed up in his dapper dress blues. He was stationed in Hawaii and the couple moved there a few days after the ceremony for a very extended honeymoon. There ceremony ended with a dramatic Hollywood kiss and sword arch.

The bridal party was one of the largest I’ve ever worked with. Ten bridesmaids and ten groomsmen and one ring bearer. And holy cow what a good looking group! Bree is the only girl out of 4 and her brothers insisted on picking her up.

After the formals, Bree, Scott, and I wandered the fabulous grounds down to the river.

The reception started with gorgeous light coming in the large windows in the ballroom. The place looked great. Seating cards were handmade and attached to mini pumpkins.

The happy couple danced to “Far Away” by Nickelback. This song was especially meaningful to them, a story I’ll let them tell you sometime.

Even dusk was gorgeous that day…

Scott and Bree had agreed not to smash the cake. Seems that Scott was the only one who didn’t see this coming.

It was a great night and the bridal party was a blast on the dance floor. I have to give a shoutout to adorable bridesmaid, Ashley, who kept me up to date on the Phillies playoff game that night (they came back to win it 7-4) and also picked out the bridesmaid’s bouquets (which she got from Rilene and Lawrence’s wedding pictures). Infinitely Yours was responsible for the bouquets and gorgeous ceremony florals.

The ladies in red and the crowd were so much fun and believe me when I tell you that Marines know how to party!

What a great day. Special thanks to Hieu for his second shooting skills.

Bree and Scott, have a fantastic, tropical life in Hawaii. We’re all incredibly jealous and miss you to pieces.

I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you’ll be with me
and you’ll never go
~ Nickelback, “Far Away”

Wedding days bring with them so many emotions, issues, and added madness.  You’ve seen the tv shows and how some people can’t, won’t, or just don’t cope very well.  I’ve been lucky enough to avoid those bride and groomzillas.  It was a hot, balmy day when Jamie and Jeffrey tied the knot.  Not everything went according to plan but they were ROCKSTARS.  They were two beautiful people, entranced with one another, eyes locked on eyes to hold each other (maybe dropping once) through a whirlwind day. The setting was the gorgeous Chubb Conference Center (formerly ACE Conference Center) in Lafayette Hill.  Jamie was surrounded by her lovely ladies ...

I don't do very many bridal shows. I love meeting 100s of brides face to face but it hard to find the time and energy to do it. And let me tell you that I take my shows quite seriously. Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Glen Foerd Mansion | Stephanie + Nick
Remember the oddity that was the snowstorm in late October? Yeah, so do Stephanie and Nick who had their wedding that day! Stephanie, a self-proclaimed type A, was a little concerned about the wintry mix that had shown up way too early in the year. Despite the wonky weather, the day went off beautifully! This is the same couple that wasn’t looking for love that I was telling you about a few months ago from their engagement session around Chestnut Hill.I met with Stephanie at the Sheraton not far from the wedding venue. She was there with her mother and sister watching the flakes through the window. She changed into her gorgeous Vera Wan ...
